Had been very busy for the past few days. Furthermore I got episode 23 of Gundam 00 very late, hence explaining my delay. At least, that problem is resolved for the time being. Now that episode 24 is out, we are one episode away from the season finale and I bet that it’s gonna be explosive.
After the Meisters received their Gundam upgrade, the Trans-Am system, Ptolemaios crews scrambled to prepare themselves for the possible retaliation from the GN-X team. Sumeragi began explaining about the Trans-Am system after their thorough analysis. More after the jump.

All tears for Neena who lost both of her brothers.
The system allows the original GN Drive users (the Gundams) to boost particle utilization 3 times greater than the usual. However Trans-Am comes with a time limit, proportionate to the amount of GN particles contained in their GN Drive. Once it is fully used, the Gundam capabilities will be greatly reduced. Setsuna reported in about the incoming GN-X team and about one of the Thrones got captured by Ali Al-Saachez. As Setsuna and Lasse exit Earth’s orbit, Lasse believed that they will not be able to reach their objective to end all wars but he also believes that their existence as Celestial Being has a meaning. At the same time, the UN army approaches closer to Ptolemaios. Tieria and Allelujah dispatched with their Gundams while Lockon was forcefully locked into his room as Tieria did not want him to fight with his injuries. The remaining 26 GN-X together with Throne Zwei piloted by Al-Saachez are about to engage with Virtue and Kyrios. What they are not aware of is that Kyrios is now equipped with Tail Booster and has greater movement speed than before. The Union team were having troubles with Virtue but Al-Saachez single-handedly crippled Virtue’s offenses using GN Fangs. Even Kyrios could not stayed ahead of the game, damaging the Tail Booster while at it.

All work and no play for this bunch of Haro.

GN-X are never done with their battle pursuit.

Lockon hates being left out.

Virtue immediately got into trouble.

The same goes to Kyrios.
Sumeragi ordered a retreat but Lockon took things into his hand as he decided to move out with his Dynames using GN Armor. He plans to destroy the UN army battleships alone. Soma who is now engaging Kyrios, was about to make her final move when Kyrios activated its Trans-Am. Even Virtue who is heavily bombarded by the GN-Xs’ persisting firing, activated Trans-Am. Virtue fired a stronger GN Bazooka beam and took out many GN-X units. But as a result of this, nearly half of Virtue’s particles is depleted. Luckily for Tieria, Lockon came to support him with Dynames. Equipped with GN Armor, he unleashed an array of missiles that wiped off nearly all Union GN-Xs. Yes, once again, Tieria is saved by Lockon. Kyrios on Trans-Am seems nearly impossible to defeat, forcing the UN Army team to withdraw. As the enemy retreats, Dynames approached the UN Army fleet. He managed to take down two of three battleships but before he could finished of the last one, Al-Saachez intervened and forced Dynames to abandon the GN Armor. Zwei and Dynames fought furiously while Exia immediately rushed towards Dynames’ coordinates using Trans-Am. While Lockon is fighting with Al-Saachez, Daryl barged suicidally towards Dynames. Though Dynames managed to give heavy damage to Daryl’s GN-X, Daryl went head on towards Dynames – just like the Japanese kamikaze pilots. However this gives Al-Saachez the advantage of knowing that Lockon is not able to look on his right side. Using GN Fangs, Dynames nearly brought to an end but somehow survived. Even so, at this moment, it is obvious that Lockon is a sure goner.

Kyrios on viagra Trans-Am.

Virtue on Trans-Am.

Dynames on GN Armor.

It’s Al-Saachez on Throne Zwei against Lockon on Dynames.

About time for Daryl to die anyway.

Dynames bitten by GN Fangs.

*Skipped a heartbeat. Again.*
Bringing Dynames to a safe place, he boarded out of Dynames and gave Haro his final farewell. He took his sniping device along and headed to the GN Armor’s remaining cannon. He sets his target lock onto Al-Saachez but he soon noticed where Lockon is. Lockon fired a beam towards Al-Saachez but missed. Instead the Throne fired back and destroyed the cannon. The shockwave throwed Lockon away from the damaged cannon. As death soon approaches him, he recalls off his childhood past, when his family was still alive. His parents, his sister Amy and even his twin brother Lyle. He felt that he failed to change the world the way he wants to. By then, Exia was just nearby and Setsuna immediately noticed Lockon drifting helplessly away from the cannon that is about to blow up. Setsuna rushed as fast as he could but it was all too late. Ptolemaios reported that all Gundams are safe. However when the communication link was made to Dynames, Haro repeatedly mention “Lockon” and soon enough, they realized what had happened. Celestial Being is now grieving the loss of one of their best pilots. Abayo, Lockon.

“Abayo, aibo.”

Lockon. Doing what he does best – sniping.

The plan backfired for Lockon. No pun intended.

The Dylandy family.

“Bang!”

Farewell, Lockon Stratos.

…

Welcome to “Guess who’s cries the best” show. First up, Sumeragi.

Allelujah failed to impress with his manly tears.

Tieria cried for the reason that he forgot to chain up Lockon onto his bed.

And the winner is… Setsuna, with his ever-so emotional reaction to almost about eveything!
Episode 23 is full of tears. Indeed this episode fared off way much better than the previous one. Gundam 00 is getting better by the episode and as the season is approaching to an end, episode 23 is making such a big impact to the story. However as much as I love this episode, I also hate it at the same way because my favourite Meister died in great Gundam honour. The 19th minute is probably the best moment of the story and of course, Lockon’s duel with Al-Saachez is dead flawless. The thing that creeps me off is that the duel greatly reminds me of Gurren-Lagann and there was a moment when Lockon bid “abayo, aibo” to Haro, he makes perfect resemblance of Kamina. I wonder if the writers are planning to immitate the storyline from Gurren-Lagann and make it their own. Also at the last part when Lockon pointed at Earth with his fingers shaping like a gun, that part reminded me of Spike in his final moments in Cowboy Beboy. For me, it’s a great relief as knowing the story is not the typical Gundam plot style. But doing so also makes it rather predictable and I’m excited to know how the writers are planning to bring about the story. Now that Lockon is gone, I wonder if Lyle is going to be the one to replace his place in Dynames. You might know of his twin brother in episode 9 and it is less shocking (or rather cliche) should Lyle be the one to replace Lockon as a Gundam Meister. Two more episodes left for Gundam 00. Let’s wait and see on how things will develop later in the story.
