Alright, so here’s a quick look at episode 2 without going too deep into it. We are first given a recapped on [Spoilers] the powers of the shinra banshou after which we see kumohira pledging his loyalty to miharu. [En d spoiler]His response?

As the title of the episode suggests, a new character is introduced, none other than raimei, former student of kumohira in tokyo. Carrying a katana, she enters and interrupts the training between kumohira and aizawa. Apparently, she wants to have an early death test the strength of shinra banshou but ended up picking on the wrong guy.
Get that stick out of my eye.
We also get to know that raimei is currently part of the fuuma group, one of the strongest, in the tokyo region and is a samurai who refuses to do ninjutsu, in other words, she’s mostly likely a squib even though she bs about her own fighting style and watever. HAHA. She doesn’t believe that the shinra banshou resides in such a weak looking guy and decides to observe miharu, future king of nabari for the day. She mistakenly considered his relax attitude as hidden strength…

Soon she discovered miharu’s ‘special’ way of getting out of tough situation. She could no longer take his loofing attitude and confronts him to be more aware of his situation. He got rid of her easily and she approaches aizawa who reveals him to be the master of being carefree. During their breaktime, we get to know that raimei easily mistake other people for people she knows when she gets excited seeing that she approached another student thinking he was kumohira. While raimei discusses about miharu’s shinra banshou and declared that she will kill him if he joins the enemy, aizawa is cussing miharu about having a proper diet instead of just having a packet of milk for lunch. Raimei continues trailing miharu after school but…

Yeap, looks like we are going to be seeing lots of this. Raimei, the person who mistakens people, will provide lots of comedy. Imagine if she defends her enemies against her own allies, that would be classic =3
After raimei lost track of miharu, we see that miharu is actually taking kumohira’s advice of training his mental strength. Looks like he dislikes physical activity but prefers the mental approach. Raimei catches up in time to find him trying to put back a fallen young bird to its nest and after doing so, was left hanging onto the edge of the cliff on one hand. Miharu didn’t look scared and just queried raimei on her reason for approaching him when she came to pull him up. Now at this part, there’s quite a big difference in the translation for the two fansub groups which I am following. Miharu replied to raimei who cussed him about being so cool in such a situation. One group translate it as he felt a little scared, the other group translated it as he just felt surprised (at her appearance?). This needs a professional to look at. So raimei realises that miharu isn’t that bad of a person and volunteers to bring him to her village to let her village head, fuuma kotarou. Kumohira violently objects to it because he didn’t want miharu to leave his side, neither did he want to rely on anyone else. After aizawa fed raimei some info on the previous attack attempt, she out debated kumohira.

Even so, kumohira wasn’t totally satisfied and volunteered to be their guardian. Fast forward to train station, unsurprisingly, miharu was late and they missed the train resulting in kumohira forking out for another 4 tickets.
Damnit, where’s platform 9 3/4?
Miharu appears late and shock the living shit out of them surprised them with his new flunky dress sense.

You gotta watch it for yourself. My expression was pretty similar to kumohira, what will yours be? Aizawa lent his clothes to miharu and just when they were ready to go, the 3 of them learnt that kumohira has a phobia with any kind of transportation vehicles. Using his act cute powers, miharu ‘convinced’ kumohira to board the train.

I feel depressed. Are dementors coming?
While the rain falls, kumohira dreamt about the past (the same flashback at the start of episode 1) as he struggles to explain the whereabouts of miharu’s mother and grandfather, ninjas surround them(again) who accused kumohira of killing —- and his desire for the ninjutsu as well. They transfered to a bus after the train.
Just as they reached the last bus stop, kumohira wakes up in terror. Aizawa glances upon the forest below the forest and declares it to be the fuma village. Travelling to the bottom of the slope, raimei explains to miharu that in order to prevent the normal world of muggles people from entering/seeing hogwarts, all the ninjas take turns to cast a mist spell to cover up the village. However, not all things seem to be going right as the village was not covered up as claimed by raimei.
Environmentally friendly wind-powered village. I like.
As raimei ran towards the village, miharu was the first to notice the approach of unknown bodies. Dead bodies.
It’s raining female and male ninjas today. Remember to bring an umbrella!
Thoughts
So in this episode, we continue to see much humor throughout the show with little action throughout. It wasn’t a bad thing though, I was thoroughly enjoying myself laughing at the same various jokes. I like the classical music insert too at various miharu moments too. Kumohira speaking nonsensical english during his english classes were pretty hilarious. Yes, he pronounced them correctly but the sentence he read makes no sense xD. So far, the humour is pretty much acceptable. My only hopes is that the humour doesn’t extend into the serious moments when the group faces the enemies in the next episode. It isn’t THAT epic but it could be enjoyable while it lasts. Let’s hope miharu shows some powers next episode.
Preview
Two of the enemies appeared with their own swat team and everyone except miharu soon fell to the enemies, miharu covers his right eye and tries to unleash geass/sharingan on all of them. Of course, he fails and dies soon after. Just kidding. Next episode: Raid.
