This is a very late review of episode 19 of Code Geass. Had been very busy this week and adding Crisis Core to that factor, I’ve been shying away from the blogosphere for quite some time. So I’ll skip the episode summary and jump right into the impression of the episode. Not to be missed are the episode’s screencaps.
Thoughts: It is not difficult to hate Rollo from the beginning of the show. Odd enough, it is also not difficult to feel sad of his demise in this episode. Yes, Rollo is just another fellow whom we love to hate with his passionate brotherly (if not, gay) love for his beloved brother, Lelouch. But then again, there is also Tamaki. Anyway with Lelouch had actually acknowledged him towards the end despite his many attempts to have him killed, there is a sense of forgiveness in Lelouch for Rollo. Bear in mind, Rollo was the one who had killed Shirley. He has also intended to have Nunnally dead though FLEIJA got ahead of him on that. And I am sure Rollo was aware enough of Lelouch’s reckless attempts to have him dead unless he was absolutely dense. Nonetheless the writers really took viewers by surprise simply because Rollo was given a much respectable death although he was such a jerk throughout the story. In similar fashion, Schniezel too made an unexpected action to reveal Lelouch’s identity to the Black Knights though this was expected to come anytime soon anyway. Now the remaining question will be on what the Emperor’s next actions would be. That fellow had been quite difficult to predict and the same goes for Suzaku who seems to have lost it in the end of the episode. Please have Suzaku dead soon.
