Time is becoming increasingly limited for me at the moment, what with exams and whatnot. Chances are that this blog will have to become a Hetalia only blog until Brian or Loba return, which will hopefully be fairly soon.

But don’t worry, I’ll be keeping up with Hetalia. At 5 minutes per episode, it’s hardly eating up valuable time.
This episode introduced two new characters, although one of them has been hanging around for a while.
This guy represents this country called America. No idea where that is, I think it’s somewhere in Africa, right? I was hoping that perhaps he would bring some new jokes to the table but all he does is eat fast food, which is basically an extension on Italy’s joke. Come on Hetalia, come up with something else! Although I do like the ‘and I’ll be the hero!’ line America spouts out, it’s just so true. At least, that’s what I’ve heard about America. I doubt they have a large enough army to be any sort of hero. They probably don’t even have any nuclear weapons.
The other new character is South Italy, who may at first seem to be completely different from his pasta-loving brother but it soon becomes clear that both north and south are completely useless at fighting. The gag in this one is South Italy is slightly racist and dislikes Germany (ironic seeing as what Germany did during the war) yet still squeals and asks Germany for help when he sees France on his way. Oh, and for possibly the first time we saw Italy look slightly phased by something that happened after South Italy asked for a rather strange favour.

I must admit I get slightly lost at stages during this anime. For example in the scene above; Is this a reference to the amount of French resistance groups hiding underground during WWII? Are still even in WWII? And why in gods name is Italy afraid of France? And as for chibitalia, I have no idea what’s going on. Pretty much all it serves is for us to look at ultra-cute chibis. It sounds like you didn’t read the webcomic. France in Hetalia is a sexual predator who usually makes inappropriate comments towards most of the characters, even molesting them. So he gained quite a rep.
Nah, I much prefer watching the anime versions of anything but Hetalia does seem to assume you’ve read the comic already. Basically, it seems like it’s just for the fangirls, which is kinda annoying for someone like me. I suppose I should read the webcomic
Cool. Though as a warning, the comics after the main story have LOTS of ship teasing and is a lot more fanservicy in general. Although since it falls under the moe genre, it’s to be expected.

Now now, my friend, not to be rude, as I do enjoy your blogs about Hetalia very much~ You are very wrong! You may or may not have been kidding, but for Pete’s sake man I really hope you aren’t.
America is in North America, right below Canada. In the 1700’s we defeated Great Britan all though we were entirely weaker and had less resources, as well as being incredibly uneducated. America is known for it’s incredibly greasy & I suppose sometimes gross fast food. The reason he is always saying “I’ll be the hero!” is because apparently Americans normally want to be the center of attention.
