Claymore (Episode 4)

And so I lied about reviewing Romeo x Juliet very soon as I said from the previous post. Well I am not the only internet user at home. It’s not like we have LAN internet here or something like that. Now I miss personal use of internet.

I have decided to drop Claymore from my anime reviews. So that leaves me Darker Than Black, Death Note, and Romeo x Juliet. I’m dropping this not because that this anime title is bad. Infact Claymore is a great anime with stunning animation and great complexity of story structure. However this anime is manga based. Manga based animes tend to be very long. And I don’t enjoy reviewing animes with long storylines. However I noticed that the pace of the story here is quite slow yet it is acceptable. And being the final review of Claymore, I put more screen caps this time. Now for the episode review.

Continuing from the previous episode, Clare was defeated by the youma. The youma then changed its target to the two guards, Galk and his partner. Fortunately the rest of the guards arrived in time and the youma escaped. Galk decided to take care of Clare who is badly injured. His partner protested to do so as she is half human half youma. However Galk said Clare was the one who saved him and he’s helping her as a token of gratitude. Clare was taken care under Father Vincent. They did nothing much as she is not human. Then Glak’s partner commented that Clare should just die because monsters kill each other. Raki was not happy to hear that and threw a punch at him. He said Clare is the most kind person he ever known, more gentler than a human could. The guy punched back at Raki and went off. Galk also left the room and advised Raki to have faith on Clare.

Claymore (Episode 3)

Due to the nature of the episode this time, this will be quite a simple review. The animation is still good so far and even the drawing details are still good. The holy city of Rabona is attacked by a youma and the priests of the Great Cathedral in Rabona were compelled to request a Claymore to slay the youma. Being a holy city is not just by the name. Any unnatural being such as a youma or a Claymore are not allowed to enter within the walls of Rabona. So the idea of bringing in a Claymore into the city will be quite an issue. Yet Clare was given the job upon the request of a priest there, Father Vincent. The only way for her to enter Rabona is for Clare to eat a pill that will suppress her youma powers and revert back into a real human. Bringing Raki along as a brother will make up a better disguise as travelling siblings.

Claymore (Episode 2)

The episode of Claymore this time is surprisingly simple compared to the second episode. But it’s for the best anyway. If the story progresses too fast, that would leave much confusion to the viewers. However what is good about this episode is that it feeds more information about Claymores. For starters, Claymore actually refers to the sword that they use to kill the youmas. Thus this leaves them as an unidentified organisation whose purpose is to kill youmas.

After eradicated the youmas at a village, Clare and Raki proceeded to the next village. Raki was wondering why Clare did not collect the money from the villagers after finished her requested job. Apparently there is another person from the organisation responsible to collect the payment. As they walked through the desert, Raki felt hungry. Clare then hunted down an animal that looks like a giant lizard to me to make as food.

Claymore (preview)

Sorry for the late review. I was pretty busy from the unpacking and was fatigued from the travel. As promised the preview of Claymore. Howver the preview this time will be an episode review. I guess the fatigue really makes me lazy.

Whoa! The minute I began watching Claymore, I was amazed by the animation quality. It is simply superb. The character design did not impressed me though. Claymore is a great anime to me. In spite of the potential, I sensed that this anime won’t be gaining much popularity because of the common theme of the story which won’t get into anyone’s attention. Nonetheless, it is still enjoyable to watch.

The story begins with a youma (evil spirit or demon) feasting on a human. Then a lady with a huge sword came and killed the youma. The human world is plagued by the attacks from youma. The problem for humans is that a youma is difficult to distinguish as they are able to disguise as humans. Besides that, youma are superiorly stronger than humans. Thus they turn to the Claymores to defeat youma. Claymore is a person who is half human and half youma and has the ability to differentiate a human and a youma.
