Darker than BLACK: Gemini of the Meteor episode 5

Another plot added, this time, by the code name Izanami. This brings another question mark to this already mystery-laden story. Although things seem to pick up for the plot progress, this episode however felt more like a filler to me. No real development and the epilogue of Suou’s past did not help either. The only real progress to the story are the introduction of another contractor for Section 3, Michiru, and the first mention of Izanami. The rest are all about Suou, which makes me sad because Hei is no longer the central character of DTB. It felt that DTB Gemini is only an OVA instead of a sequel.

[PV] Tsukiakari no Michishirube by Stereopony

It took me awhile to get a hang to this. I’ll admit it; I’m not such a huge fan of this song nor of Stereopony. I do however think that it’s better than their take on Gundam 00 OP, Namida no Mukou. DTB Gemini ED by abingdon boys school is better but the single is not out yet but I’ll post it up as soon as it is released. If you want the song, you can get the PV rip here. Cheers!

I need to remind myself that DTB Gemini only has 12 episodes. Yet the story just getting better and better by the episode. More new characters introduced though it seems that DTB is going back to its usual niche of having several filler characters and to mention that they’re back in Tokyo. Not sure if the FSB are at their tail but I can see that all the main players are in the story. So Hei is trying to train Suou into a formidable contractor while Misaki is trying to edge closer to the truth behind BK201, Section 3 and the Syndicate. More after the jump.

If you think Misaki’s return to the show is exciting, try watching this episode to get the full thrill. I literally screamed like a fangirl to learn that another familiar character comeback. Unfortunately, the exhilaration ends with the horrible BGM. Well, there were some good moments but most of it failed to sync to the mood of the scene. I know that I’m late for this review but put the blame on my local ISP. Now there’s episode 4 to catch soon. More after the jump.

DTB: Ryuusei no Gemini OP + ED

Ah! AIMI’s cute voice for the vocals of Stereopony really fits DTB2 this time, judging by the fact that Suou is taking the lead role while Hei’s story is taking the back seat. We should be familiar with Stereopony from Gundam 00 and Bleach. And also, the ever famous abingdon boys school. I swear we’re seeing this band doing OPs and EDs for various animes, including Soul Eater, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, and more recently, Sengoku Basara. But to be fair, they also did the OP for DTB season 1. I’d say I wouldn’t enjoy both tracks though abingdon boys schools did a better job. I still find FMA’s second OP and ED are the best of anime this year, with NICO Touches the Wall’s Hologram for OP and Miho Fukuhara’s Let It Out for ED. As if not having Yoko Kanno for music director isn’t bad enough already. I guess we’ll have to make do for the newbie for now. For their full songs, I’ll post them up once they’re released. Should be soon enough, I hope.

Let me get straight to the point here. The best part of the episode is definitely towards the end of it. Yin is trapped somewhere in the realm which holds the Hell’s Gate and Misaki is back in business (not entirely though, we’re being teased by her late appearance to this sequel). Already into the second episode and there’s so many hints the writers are leaving us to ponder upon. I better not get ahead of myself and jump into the synopsis first.
