I’m in your blog, talking about Honey and Clover

Using my l33t hacking skills, I have worked my way into THAT Anime Blog and started to deface their blog by rambling on about Honey and Clover. OK, not strictly true. I was invited by one of the authors to join him in a joint, ani-blogging project to discuss our alternate opinions on this widely praised Josei series. Though I’m a bit disappointed you can’t see some of the behind the scenes discussion what occurred while writing the post. Honey and Clover to PlantetES to Code Geass to the IRA to punk rock to Darfur to Kannagi and so on. I’ve turned off comments on this post in order to encourage you to go comment on the post in question over on THAT instead.

Critique us please

So it first started with the Otaku Elimination game and the criticism of anime blogs they decided to distribute. While some people seemed to recoil at the possibility of their writing being critiqued (usually from the people whose writing was in dire need of a kick up the hole funnily enough) most of the aniblogsphere embraced the prospect of finally receiving some constructive criticism. However, lets face it, the OEG isn’t exactly giving wonderful advice on how to improve your blog, certainly not while they’re in Danny Choo suck up genocide mode at the moment. So a man dangerously low on hit points decided that the best idea was to simply ask on the blog for constructive criticism. This followed suit over at Anime² (::Edit:: and later over at Mikitoism) so now over to Bokutachi no Blog.

I invite you all to provide us with constructive criticism.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be about me either, it can be for any of the writers on the blog. Although I will say that none of us have any sort of coding skills whatsoever so the layout will have to stay the exact same.

Celebrating 2000 comments: Flamers, followers, Israeli Gundam builders and more

Bokutachi no Blog reached a rather impressive milestone recently, with Executive Otaku nicking the 2000th comment on the blog. And if there is one thing bloggers love more than anything else, it’s comments. Even if it’s just a silly one-liner, even if it’s a troll and even if it’s a flame…scratch that, especially if it’s a flame. There’s nothing more satisfying for a writer to see the comment count rise, far more so than it is to see the view count rise. You could simply be getting over 100 hits a day just because a picture on the page just so happens to appear on the front page of google images when you type in ‘Bleach’. Comments prove your post has been read and the person actually cared enough to process what you wrote and go through that oh so tiresome process of typing out a semi-coherrant response. So this post is a celebration of these comments, what they meant, what they signify and what on earth was going through the writers mind when he wrote them. Comment moar folks!

Asura Cryin’ Season 2 Ep 6

Unfortunately, time has become a big factor in my study life now. And studying is about all I do for life these days so as you can see time becomes even shorter, *sob*. I’m ok though, in case any of you cared, (probably not). But with that, I would like all of you who read and follow my weekly review of Asura Cryin’ Season 2 to please leave me a comment letting me know that you follow. I don’t want to sound bossy and I don’t want to force anyone, but I’m just saying that if I get no manifestations then I will have to stop reviewing this anime.

And if there’s even one person, then I promise that I will keep giving my best reviews for Asura Cryin’. :)

The Otaku Elimination Game: Brilliantly harsh criticism of anime blogs

It takes a lot of balls to come out and bitch about anime blogs without using generalisations. People will complain about how terrible a vast majority of blogs are without actually ever caring to give any names. Hence when I stumbled across The Otaku Elimination Game I found myself grinning from ear to ear. So if you want to see your favourite, most hated and maybe even your own anime blogs be horribly cut down then by all means pop on over. I do hope that loads of people start following this project they’ve put together because I would love to see some general improvement of the anime blog scene come out of this. And if that doesn’t happen, then at least we’ll draw some amusement from the shit storm that will inevitably be caused by some of the harsh criticisms.

Bokutachi no Blog isn’t listed as one of the competitors. I’m not sure whether to be relieved or disappointed…

::Edit:: OK, we’ve been put on the list. However beside the blog name they wrote ‘because we can’…

…oh dear…

Technical Updates

Rating system is now available on each post of this blog. I’ve decided to begin with this rating system so as to improve our blog entries here in whatever way necessary. However if you think the rating system is a no-go, do let me know by leaving a comment. And yeah, you can rate this entry too.

Also, in the future, a poll may be included on the sidebar, probably on anime-related stuff. So please be informed of that (p/s: It’s gonna be picking your favourite animes).

Irashaimasen

Welcome to Bokutachi no Blog. That's "Our Blog" in Japanese. Our Anime Blog, to be exact. And if you landed to this page by accident, probably in search for ecchi stuff, then you should regret to have hit this page. Don't worry, this blog is children-safe and no misdemeanor acts here. Sorry, you bald, middle-aged perverts. But thanks for the hit anyway.
