12 Days of Anime #12: Rio: Rainbow Gate is the best worst show of the last few years

Can you believe it’s nearly Christmas already!? I haven’t been with the blog very long but it feels like I joined just yesterday. I know everyone says it but it’s incredible just how quickly the year flies by. Anyway, as is something of an anime blog tradition, we’re kicking off the 12 days of anime with a post about a terribly special show (and I do mean terrible), enjoy!

Persona 4 the Animation – Episode 09 and Gooney’s brief apology

I’m going to get this out of the way first so that I can talk about this episode of Persona 4 uninterrupted. I’ve barely had any time this week (I wanted to write this post a few nights ago, but I went to a Deadmau5 concert and was completely drained for the whole day yesterday) and as a result, I haven’t even been able to watch most anime (including this week’s episode of Haganai, so I’ll hopefully incorporate that into my next post) so that explains why this is later than usual. Last thing, I’m going on vacation this week, I should be back on the 9th so with any luck both of my next episodic posts should be out on time next week, sorry for the schedule slips, I love blogging so I feel like crap when I don’t even manage to write the minimum I planned.

So about this week’s episode…

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai – Episode 08

So about this week’s coverage of Persona 4, I really did plan on writing a post today and it’s not that I haven’t had enough time as me posting this shows. No, it’s that while I really, really enjoyed this week’s episode (It was utterly hilarious at times), there wasn’t nearly enough happening for me to write about, so next week’s post will cover both this episode and the next one.

Back to the show this post is actually about…

Fate/Zero Episode 8: Weak Females are Weak…Blame Type-Moon

Another Fate/Zero episode is out. Uryuu Ryuunosuke and his fans are sad to  announce that no children were killed. And no, I didn’t sing any Tentacle Rape or Caster songs (referencing to my previous post) here. 10 persons out of OVER 200 liked the songs. If you solely looked at the Internet nerds, that ratio should still be higher than the ratio of fans:haters of Justin Bieber…ok, maybe not. Funnily enough, people started to link me the “Trololo Sing Along” song. I guess I subconsciously used a similar tone of the song. I didn’t even think of that song while I was horrendously singing. Kids, don’t do drugs. If you’ve watched the anime classic, Garzey’s Wing, then you know that “A drug…It’s a bit dangerous.”

It’s funny what Google Search can show you

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai – Episode 07

Back with episode 5, I had some trouble writing about it as very little actually happened that week. Now, my problem this week is pretty much the same, only instead of very little happening, nothing happened at all. Still a funny episode (with some parts legitimately making me laugh out loud) but man, with episodes like this it’s hard to find much to say.

Persona 4 the Animation – Episode 7

Back when Persona 4 (the game) was released, Kanji Tatsumi was lauded for being one of the few characters in modern gaming who not only had an ambiguous sexuality, but whose sexuality was explored to such a degree, he’s one of the more interesting characters in a medium that often prefers to leave such issues taboo, and the anime pulls off his arc very well.
