A coincidence that would only happen in the movies

P/s: I’m blogging this from LCCT-KLIA, waiting for my flight back to Miri. Finally I am on my semester break. In short, more time in hand to actually do whatever I wanted to do. Nonetheless surprises kept on lurking around me from every corner. Earlier today, as planned I went on to the airport to catch my flight back to Miri via Airasia. I got my transport ready by 1.00 p.m. since my flight was scheduled at 3.30 p.m. Or so I thought. Then I got a last minute call from the car rental owner that my transport will late by 30 minutes due to some circumstances. I didn’t mind as I was prepared for last minute shockers such as this one. I always have all my plans backed up. So the rental came 1.40 p.m. instead of 1.30 p.m. as agreed earlier. I call this attitude as “Kelantan Time” when the time will be quite unpredictable at times. Gotten the car, my roommate and I went out for a quick bite.We head on to the gas station for a quick pump at approximately 2.20 p.m. Sorry if I scrutinized the chronology by time keeping as though it is the US TV series, 24. Well I felt that way at that time. Somehow back then, I had uneasy feeling about my flight time. So I gave it a check. I look at the time – 1555 hours. Something wrong here. That was the arrival time to Kuala Lumpur. The departure time, 1500 hours. Thats 3 p.m. in standard time. AirAsia policy is to check in by the minimum 45 minutes. And there I was pumping gas in to the car (Kelantan still have pump attendant to pump the fuel into the car for motorists) at 2.20 p.m. I spilled the bad news to my roommate. Both of us knew that it is a bad thing and we both also knew that I will predictably attempting something risky. And so I did.Leaving the gas station at 2.25 p.m., I began my race to the airport. Swaying the car left and right as I passed by many cars in attempt to escape the crazy traffic in Kelantan. What do you know? I’m driving like a Kelantanese already. Although the driving seemed reckless, I do kept safety in mind. I have another passenger on board. But I did gave him the heads up. Sorry Ah Tat! I didn’t driving very fast too, obeying reasonable highway speed limit. The most I could revved up the speedometer is at 100 kmph. After the rush, I reached the airport approximately 2.35 p.m. I couldn’t clock the time precisely as I was rushing to the point that I overlooked the my watch. I was really hoping that AirAsia will accept late check-in and even better, delaying the flight to a later time. Thank goodness the check-in counter was still accepting passengers although the “Counter Closed” signboard was placed. And guess what was the reason for accepting such late check-in? As we know, AirAsia is very strict in imposing their terms and regulations and late check-in is definitely not tolerated. The only reason why AirAsia was loose on this check-in time is because the flight was actually delayed to 3.30 p.m. IN the end, my flight plan was exactly as I wanted it to be. Now that’s coincidence.
