Last Words of 2007

The year is approaching to an end. People attending parties to enjoy the final moments of this year. Some probably witness the live telecast of the countdown party from the comforts of their home. Some probably had to put effort in their works despite of the jovial mood around them. And some like myself would be sitting in front of their laptop, doing God-knows-what. Friends who know me would probably think that I’ll be bashing a party or if not, have some fun privately but any of those would not be happening simply because of one reason. Believe it or not, Kelantan – where I currently study and stay – do not have a holiday for the New Year. 1 January 2008 is just like any other day when everyone do their usual business. Indeed outsiders such as myself would consider this as a culture shock but respecting the local culture is something I have learn to practice.Obviously I don’t have the mood to talk personal matters in my blog, not to mention that I take my privacy seriously. What I really want to talk about now is my life in the blogosphere. Quite often, many people have no direction in life. Even I myself have troubles in choosing a path to my future. Always that I think about the short-term goals in life rather than to look ahead. This attitude frankly is not good, especially when you are aiming success in life. The same goes to my blog. I have started blogging since I was 16 actually and that was in 2003. In fact at that time, I was quite dedicated to webpage building and I have been constantly learning on how to construct a webpage. Most of the time, it’s self-studied. So I used that ability I to build a custom online journal on my own. It paid off but then I quit. It was public examination year in 2004 and that gave me little time to blog. Several years later in 2006, I ended my long hiatus from the blogosphere and began updating ever since. It was quite recent – I am aware of it. However I was naive at that time and like I said earlier, I was lost without any direction. Most of the time, I would blog about my emotional self (yeah, kind of pathetic don’t you think?) and endless rants. At one point, a friend of mine comment of how silly my blog is. And there’s truth in those words, no one really cared about your personal life. Some people would probably had it tougher elsewhere. Anyway I started or rather returned blogging last year with the purpose of keeping in touch with my friends. Again I say, I was naive then. Then it came to point when I decided to bring blogging to another level. I know it’s hard work but deep inside, I believe it worth the effort. 1 March 2007 was the day when I began my exodus from Blogspot to WordPress. Honestly the blogging experience in WordPress is great with their dedicated dashboard that make the life of us bloggers a little bit easier. Many great features I would like to share to you but I guess I leave the searching to you. Also at that time, I made a personal ultimatum to make this personal blog of mine into an anime blog. Since then, there was no stopping for me. Even now, I must admit that I’m still new in this business but I strife to improve myself. With little resources and limited time, I can only do my best to make ends meet. In reference to my anime reviews, of course. I know that this post seems rather odd but my frustrated soul now tells me to just let myself out regardlessly. In other words, become emo once in a blue moon. Having said enough, I wish all readers a happy new year and all the best for the year 2008. May 2008 be a whole load of great anime titles and everything beyond the otaku realm.

Gundam 00 (Anime Preview)

I was never really a fan of the Gundam franchise. I always find Gundam as any other typical mecha animes, which probably explains why I also shun myself away from watching Code Geass in the first place. And by coincidence, these two animes are of the same animation studio SUNRISE. However many anime advocates agree, it is a dry season this fall and now that the winter anime season is coming, we certainly look forward to many of huge titles in that period. As for the fall anime season, I was desperate to be frank and began watching my least favourite genre of the anime realm – mecha. That is why I began watching Dragonaut though the boobs are not my concern for the anime. And due to this, I began watching Gundam 00. I was told to watch it many times, convincing me that it is more political and definitely packed with action. However none of them told me of how good the animation is, especially that this Gundam series is the first among the franchise to be produced in high-definition format. And Gundam never look so much better in HD.

Gundam 00 Gundam has landed...

The year is 2301 A.D. and in the Kurdish Republic, civil war is destroying the nation and many of the fighters are children. Many would die by the obviously stronger robots or mobile suits but there was one particular boy who was saved by another robot of a different kind that descended on the Kurdish land like an angel from heaven.

Dragonaut: The Resonance (Episode 13)

The anime blog Random Curiosity’s very own Best of Anime of the Year award had released their list of results, including for the Reader’s Choice Poll. It’s not exactly an award, just biased to the writers’ own standpoint but trust me, these people are seasoned anime bloggers and they sure know their stuff. In case many of you do not know, there won’t be any animes being aired for this week due to the New Year holidays and thus giving fansubs and anime bloggers a little break. On another topic, here’s an insightful read for Malaysian readers.

Ten years in the past, representatives from both ISDA and Gillard army were in a meet as the Gillard army demonstrated the destructible force of their latest warhead, Type X missile. Confident to have this missile to destroy Thanatos, all the Gillard army need is a transport shuttle to deliver this payload to Thanatos. However Gillard army did not provide the shuttle because it was not part of their contract and that is in the responsibility of the ISDA. Kiril and Sakaki were present and the former told them that they do not have any suitable shuttle for that job. Then Sakaki suggested that a dragon is suffice and that makes up for the D-Project.

Earth’s secret weapon to defeat Thanatos. Continue reading ‘Dragonaut: The Resonance (Episode 13)’

Not long after, Sakuraba gotten sick and urged Nanaka to get a new violin instructor. Yet she refused, willing to wait for him until he recovered and is out of the hospital.

Dragonaut: The Resonance (Episode 12)

In the aftermath of the shuttle crash two years ago, Kiril lead the congregation in the memorial service for those who perished in that crash and Jin who was present there, wondered if his father was to blame for the incident. Far away from there, Nozaki looked over the sea on top of the lighthouse and shed some tears himself. I guess this strengthens the point of which Yuuri is Nozaki’s master as he was able to empathize her emotions.

The Resonance
The memorial service Continue reading ‘Dragonaut: The Resonance (Episode 12)’

A-C-Phlegm-M-E-D

I know this is overrated and you might seen this enough on YouTube but this one is really, really funny. My personal favourite from Jeff Dunham, probably the funniest ventriloquist I’ve ever known. What’s great about Dunham is he’s also good at stand-up. Indeed a five-star comedian.

Dragonaut: The Resonance (Episode 11)

All of my classes for today are cancelled. So technically today is a day off for me. Again. Not that I’m complaining about it though.

Five years ago, Yuuri went shopping for her perfume with her supposedly boyfriend Yonamine Kou and was having trouble looking for one when a girl showed up to recommend her a suggestion. The girl was Hoshi Nanami as she introduced herself to Yuuri as her new subordinate.

“Hi! I’m Nanami and soon I will betray the ISDA :P” Continue reading ‘Dragonaut: The Resonance (Episode 11)’
