Lelouch arrives at the Kururugi Shrine to meet Suzaku personally while the Britannia army has picked up their offences with the Vampire of Britannia who is the Knight of Ten, Bradley entering the battlefield. Soon the Knight of One, Bismarck joins the battlefield. Meanwhile back to Lelouch, Suzaku openly said that he could not trust him anymore for having betrayed their friendship and having lied to him and all the others all the time. In the Ikagura, Asahina and Chiba voiced their doubts on Zero but Todou told them to have faith in Zero. At the same time, Ougi secretly meets with Diethard regarding his position in the Black Knight as Villetta is held hostage under Diethard. Back to Lelouch again, he was asked by Suzaku whether he was responsible for Euphemia’s death, the massacre of the Japanese, and also Shirley’s death. Lelouch takes responsibility for all of those and in return, Suzaku called him as inhumane who is selfish for his own ambition. Even after saying that, he begs Suzaku to protect Nunnally and even bows down to him for ask for his forgiveness.  Instead Suzaku steps on his head and kicks him to the ground. On the battlefield, Bismarck confronts Xingke and unleashed his weapon of a sword, the Excalibur. Using the Excalibur, he absorbed all the energy from the Shenhu’s beam cannon and deflected it to destroy all nearby enemy Knightmares. Suzaku finds it diffucult for him to forgive Lelouch for everything he had done. He even questioned him the reason he uses Geass on him to stay alive, which contradict his very principles. He then asked him why did he saved him when he was convicted for Clovis’ assassination and why did he saved all the hostages during the hotel hijacking. Although Lelouch answers in such a way that it puts his own interest first, Suzaku understands very well the look on his eyes that says that he is taking all the blame upon himself. Finally Suzaku gives his resolution by pleading Lelouch to lie until the end. He asks him to truly become an ally of justice as Zero and end the war. With that, he hopes the world becomes peaceful once more where Nunnally can live in. Lelouch comes to believe that Suzaku actually forgives him and agrees to do protect Nunnally.

Suddenly Britannia forces come rushing in to detain Lelouch whom they confirmed as Zero, making Lelouch to believe that Suzaku had betrayed him once again although Suzaku did not plan it in the first place. Meanwhile Kallen was approached by Gino who later showed her Suzaku’s hidden photo album during his happier times in Ashford Academy. Gino is personally surprised to see Suzaku that as he never see him smile like that before. Gino then directs his point to ask Kallen to return to Britannia’s side. Back on the battlefield, Bradley does the unthinkable when he uses his ally battleship to crash straight towards the UFN’s mothership. Xingke tries to stop this but was stopped by Bismarck. Unknowingly, Xingke purposely took the attack from the Galahad and divert his next attack to destroy the incoming battleship. Witnessing this had already convinced Bismarck of how brilliant Xingke is in warfare tactics. As for Lelouch, he confronts his brother, Schniezel via video call who is willing to have his life spared as though looking down at him. It turns out that Lelouch’s arrest is Schniezel’s plan all along who have Suzaku followed without him noticing until to the point of meeting Lelouch. However what Schniezel did not know is that Lelouch had already made a backup plan to save him. Taking a certain pose, Lelouch’s Geass on Guildford has been activated. Earlier, he uses Geass on Guildford to think of him as Cornelia whenever he takes on that certain pose. With that, he commands Guildford to save him and to take him away to safety. After what had happened, Suzaku is brought to see Schniezel and to explain something they did not know of. Meanwhile elsewhere, Emperor Charles begins to activate a system codename Ragnarok. Lelouch returns to his Gawain and heads towards Tokyo. While the army prepares to attack the Gawain, Lelouch activates the Gefjun Disturber which he had installed on the train line all over Tokyo and this brings the city to a grinding halt. This brings to the next wave of attacks from the Black Knights. While Schniezel is confident that he is gaining control of the battle, Suzaku is contemplating on whether he should pilot the Lancelot and to use Freya on Lelouch.

Thoughts: The writers had once again proved me wrong as they bring the relationship between Lelouch and Suzaku to a more severe state. And I believe from this point on, reconciliation between them both is nearly impossible. With the story picking up even more momentum, Code Geass now is enjoyable as it was as in the first season. Yes, we do get to see lots of battle scenes though that is not necessary the point to make the story any interesting anyway. But though this, we get to see what the Knight of One and the Knight of Ten are capable of. Honestly speaking, with many of the Knights of Round gathering in Area 11 alone, the Black Knights should be facing many difficulties to fight against Britannia, especially with the Guren missing from their side. There is little chance for Lelouch to stay victorious under these circumstances, not unless things really turn out different in the coming episodes. Furthermore, he assigned Rollo to get Nunnally which I think is a possible failure considering that Rollo only wants Lelouch for himself and obviously, Nunnally is a threat to him and his relationship with Lelouch. However, I am ever more curious about Schniezel’s airy confidence that he claims to have all the cards for him to play. I wonder if he really does have a trump card of his own or does he even aware of his father’s secrets at all? Because now, Emperor Charles is planning to get ahead of the competition and initiates something that is most likely unthinkable. With only 8 episodes left for this amazing anime, many things are possible to happen as proven many times throughout the story.
