Code Geass R2 episode 21

As promised, I’ve been trying to catch up on my reviews on Code Geass. Again, this will be a brief one (minus the episode’s synopsis). Also I had just got my hands on Code Geass R2 OST 1 and hopefully, I could get that one online soon. Without furtherado, the lightning review of episode 21.

Thoughts: As compared to previous episode, this one is so much better in many aspects. The obvious would be the strikingly improved animation, reassuring fans that SUNRISE is not slacking behind for the remaining episodes of Code Geass. Another improvement noted here is the story. The usual WTF plot twist at the end of the episode had been reinstated in this episode. Code Geass style. Honestly, I was sure that the fellow walking towards the throne was Schniezel; only to be surprised to see that usual face of a highschooler. The very empire which Lelouch was fighting against is now his own. If that is not surprising enough for you, then how about Lelouch appointted Suzaku whom he severed his friendship with, as the Knight of Zero? For such a corny name, the Knight of Zero is supposed to be higher than the Knight of One. Mathematically, that is correct if you are strictly speaking of the integer involved. What is truly funny about this episode is Charles used GN particles for “propulsion.” And let’s not forget how sheepish Suzaku and Lelouch looked at the end of the episode. Both of them, especially Suzaku, had an annoying smirk on their faces. In any case, Schniezel have the better (evil) smile.
