Hetalia Axis Powers episode 6

Just an interesting fact for you all. Bokutachi no Blog had it’s WordPress birthday 5 days ago. It’s now 2 years old and, for an anime blog, that is fairly old. I don’t believe it was even called Bokutachi no Blog back then, nor did it focus much on anime. But enough of that, let’s get back to Hetalia!

Germanys audition for Strike Witches didn't go so well

I thought this episode would be devoted to the Allies but all they did was get jealous of the Axis marshmallows and tried to make some of their own, which just isn’t funny when you don’t know the characters yet. Unless these entire scenes are a parody of the phoney war where everyone build up their armies and did no actual fighting in the winter of 1939. Or that could just be me looking to much into it, it’s hard to tell with Hetalia. Instead the episode was devoted to this fellow

Apparently this fellow represents Austria. According to Hetalia, Austrians are fussy, huffy and very musical, enjoys playing piano in the middle of the ocean that sort of thing. When he started playing I got some Nodame flashbacks, which would’ve been a real pain since sometimes a Nodame recital can last up to 10 minutes, which if that were to happen in Hetalia the results would be disastrous and there wouldn’t even be time to slap in a pasta joke.

This is a picture from the upcoming masterpiece Queens Blade..ummm...whats this doing here?

This episode still managed to make me laugh but it’s no longer due to hilarious historical references. Now it’s just down to standard tried-and-tested jokes like Austria playing piano in the background, which was funny and all but it’s not what I signed up for. Hetalia is still very funny and everything but if it wants to stand out it has to get the historical parodies back in full swing. Without them it’s just another comedy. A good comedy indeed, but one that won’t  stand the test of time.

Notice the white flag fluttering in the breeze. Did you spot that the first time round. Neither did I

FYI, the anime blog idea came in quite late to me. But it worked out fine so far. Sorry for having you take care of things here. Extremely busy now. Will rejoin you once things are settled over my side. BTW, screw WP. Bokutachi no BLOG is 1 year plus. And expect another bday speech from me once it hits the 2-year mark

It just kinda came to a shock to me when I realised how old the blog was, certainly when you compare it to many other anime blogs out there.

It would be great if you could come back soon. Exams and results are piling up on this side and I’m having less time everyday. Come May and June chances are I won’t have the chance to do any posting at all

Welcome to Bokutachi no Blog. That's "Our Blog" in Japanese. Our Anime Blog, to be exact. And if you landed to this page by accident, probably in search for ecchi stuff, then you should regret to have hit this page. Don't worry, this blog is children-safe and no misdemeanor acts here. Sorry, you bald, middle-aged perverts. But thanks for the hit anyway.
