Seikon no Quasar first impressions

Yes, this is the famous “breast-milk” series for the season.  The artwork looks good, the actions looks nice, but the plot… seriously.  I’m expecting a show with a lot of action but a lot of ecchi moments that make this anime certainly (18+).  This is the final series I am doing unless someone else on TZero wants to give up their series.  That being said, enjoy.

She has a big… head?

Ignoring the sick intro (not the OP, the intro), we get purple-hair Tomo and red-hair Mafuyu as kids being raised by supposedly Tomo’s father (yes, they’re not siblings) in St. Mikhailov Academy.  Already it’s going to be shit writing the name of this school… oh well.  Tomo’s father disappears and since then, the two girls have been living like sisters with Mafuyu taking care of ditsy Tomo with her… big… opai. They’re not the popular kids in school as they get picked on a lot.  Personally, the character designs are already pretty good and unique.  I was impressed by how the artwork of not only just the characters but the settings plays a role in helping the anime look a lot better.  Probably so far, this anime has got the best artwork this season.

What the hell is going on with that bunny?

Yuri moment.  Thankfully, they’re not related.

My favorite character design is a side-bitch-character… figures.

If I didn’t point out that they were fighting, it’d be another yuri-moment.

On the way back home, they find an unconscious silver-haired boy, who they take home and take care of, only to have him disappear later.  Mafuyu decides to go to church, only to find it burning.  A masked-man, who is responsible for the recent murders, approaches her and completely mutilates her, turning Tomo’s revenge into a spirit that crushes the masked-man.

Now’s that ONE view I wouldn’t mind waking up to.

“She’s a girl!” – “No, he’s a boy!” – “She’s a girl!” – “No, he’s a boy!”

“Put him next to Mr. Killer Bunny – maybe then he’ll get better!”

In all honesty, I did not see the pantsu until I posted this.

Hope is lost?

Just kidding – just as hope looks dim for Mafuyu, the silver-haired boy comes and saves the day!  Wait, not yet.  Are you guys ready for the moment?  He’s weak, and Mafuyu doesn’t understand why until Nun Teresa comes in and gives him some of her breast milk.  POWER UP! And he eventually drives the masked-man away with his scythe.  Just when we’re about to see some thanks, we find out that he’s a cold SOB and tells Mafuyu that people who do not know how to fight back do not deserve to live.

“Sup bitches.”

Yes, this is the moment that everyone’s been waiting for – BREAST MILK TIME.

…and he gets powered up by it.  Nice.

The only reason why he won was because he drank breast milk.   Good one.

He gets introduced to the class as…. oh boy… Alexander Niko-somethin’… yeah, we’ll just call him Alexander.  He’s even colder towards the other girls but later admits that anyone near him begets misfortune.  Oh yeah, he does grab Tomo’s big… hand… in the end.

Wow, he looks like he’s not been visited by the puberty fairy.

Uhh… what to say for this screenshot… uh… “Hi there!”  (FAIL)

Sexual harassment is a bitch.

“I’m hungry.”

So, it wasn’t too bad.  It was actually pretty decent despite the breast-milk.  Good art, good characters, good action, element of surprise… yep, I’m going to continue watching this.  You should to, because Tomo’s got a big… arm.

Opening [Errand] by Faylan (who did the epic OP for Canaan)

It was good – I’ve liked Faylan even before Canaan so I enjoyed the opening.

Ending [Passionate squall) by female seiyuu cast (incl. Aya Hirano)

A lot of fanservice shots is all the ending shows, but it’s sorta catchy.

Your picture comments are amusing. I enjoyed the first episode. This was not my type of anime, but I kinda liked the male lead. Hopefully they’ll keep stuff censored.

LOVE IT. Oh btw, how does everyone get all these practically HD screencaps? Cuz I feel mine aren’t that great…do you just download, then cap them? Or watch the streaming version?

Well anyways, I really loved the first episode. The different elemental abilities are gonna be VERY interesting. And I’ll DEFINITELY be covering the uncensored version. HELLLLSSS EYAH!!!

hopefully they explain the importance of “drinking milk” next episode :p

the manga isn’t that bad. it may have tons of adulterated stuff but the interesting part (for me) is when they explain the technicalities of their powers. maybe you could find that interesting 🙂

Hey there! Just want to say you got a great blog!

This ep was crazy – it’s funny how japanese can take something old, traditional like religion and turn it into something cool and… catchy ;-). Nun Teresa was just great :-).

because Alexander stole her holy aura through the milk-sucking and she’s under constant pain for a certain amount of time around her… nipples after that incident…
