What to expect from K-ON!!

My resolution for the coming anime season was to have less and less summaries of just each episode but to have more thoughts on different things about the anime world so that more people can be interested more by my thoughts rather than the anime itself.  Hence, that being said, my first article will be “What to expect from K-ON!!”  Now, for those of you who don’t know, the first season is K-ON! while the second season is called K-ON!!, with two exclamations.  Yeah, I know it’s weird but here are the top five things you can expect from the second season.

1. Epic opening and endings. We all want this.  “Don’t say lazy” is on the my top 25 most played list, and the song continues to be epic the more I listen to it.  Hopefully we can get an even more epic beginning and ending sequence that can make K-ON!’s songs look dull.  And plus, we’re getting a lot of the same familiar crew so the future looks good.

2. Incredible airing time. Yes, this show is getting 28 stations.  That’s more than triple the amount of normal anime series.  For comparison,  reasonably popular series airing this season are Sora no Woto with 4 stations, Dance in the Vampire Bund with 6, Omamori Himari with 7,  and Hidamari Sketch Hoshimittsu with only 3.

3. ‘Go Go Maniac’. And ‘Afterschool Tea Time’.  Did I mention that this is the ending and opening song (respectively) and how epic they’re going to be?

4.  Japan will overflow. That’s right.  If you think a lot of K-ON franchise is out now, wait till the second season finishes.  K-ON will become on par with Haruhi Suzumiya (or maybe even more, since Haruhi’s second season was… crap) and the world will be run by moe-girls who play in light-music bands.

5. New singers. You know what I’m talking about – the singers that don’t sing will SING.  And the ones that already do sing will SING more.

    I think your expectations may be a little high.

    Also the !! thing isn’t that strange, since Hayate no Gotoku did it too.

    Also… what is this “getting 28 stations” about?

    Back when Haruhi 2 was airing, everyone was saying that it was crap, mainly because endless 8.
    But, i watched it just a few weeks ago and I must say i really enjoyed it ( including the endless 8). I just got bored around repetition 6, since i really liked their idea of remaking the same episode. I would have made and endless 4 though, no more than that.
    As of the rest of the series, it was quiet enjoyable, not as much as first season, but still enjoyable.
    Damn it, forgo the topic wasn’t Haruhi.
    About K-ON!!, doubt they will be able to have both an opening and an ending as good as the fist season. Regarding to the series itself, i think we has enough of K-on already, it’s gonna get boring quickly

    LOLZ I never really caught onto K-ON! I was sort of bored with the first episode so I didn’t really bother watching anymore, but I’m thinking about giving it another chance before this second season comes around.The most I “think” I know about the show is the charcaterss, and of course the music XD.

    I just hope this don’t end up like how everyone anticipated Haruhi S2 last year
    One thing is for sure: K-on!! won’t replay 8 same episodes.

    So you are switching into ‘editorial’ mode permanently?
    As for K-ON!! I doubt it will exceed any expectation especially in the OP/ED songs because some songs just clicks with you and some, though very good, doesn’t. It’s very subjective 🙂

    @Salamandra
    that means 28 channels in Japan will have K-ON on them… just to make Crafting_star’s comment a bit more clear

    @azure2526
    who knows… hopefully, not.

    @Canne
    no I’m not ‘switching’ but I’m doing less anime episode review posts and more editorial stuff
    and true that about the songs… i live them XD

    YEAH!!!! IM SO PUMPED FOR A SECOND SEASON!!!!
    If they are writing more songs, im listening to more songs! and who knows they might make another wonderous hit like “Don’t say Lazy”. I DLed the character singles, and i was impressed with them, especially Mugi-chan’s!
    and if the anime world is run my Moe gals in light music bands! thats definetly fine by me!

    @Drewge: What are the “character singles” you speak of? Does each character take a chance to sing the song?

    @Drewge: What are the “character singles” you speak of? Is when each character takes a turn to sing the songs?

      @GLZa: Sorry for the delay in replying… but the Character singles are in a way them taking turns to sing, but all the songs are new. They each sing two original songs and then each sings “Lets Go!”… You can find the Character Singles here… http://metanorn.kokidokom.net/2009/06/k-on-character-single-vol-1-yui-hirasawa/
      that is Yui’s album. they are all on that site you just have to look for each character… also It wasnt just the band members that did Character Singles, all the Main Characters released some, Like Ui, Whatshername Sensei, ect…

        Character singles are when the seiyuu gets to sing one~three songs in their own album by the character they portray. It’s good merchandising and usually all anime have their character albums
