Angel Beats! episode twelve

They’re starting to get into that Evangelion-mental crap that the series went through some twenty years ago.

I honestly thought that the series would take a different direction rather than just having everyone get back together to destroy the shadows while Yuri goes on further into Guild to see what the hell is going on.  Rather than explaining myself, I’ll have to demonstrate it with pictures and comments towards the events in the pictures.  (The author only wrote this because he had nothing else to write to make it seem as if this paragraph takes up space).

The brunette bassist and GirlDeMo manager-person actually talked a small amount this episode.  Angel Beats needs more girls and more female leads rather than just Yuri and Kanade.  Why couldn’t GirlDeMo actually be a part of Otonashi’s close group of friends and he would go listen to their music to relax and think – that way we have more girls taking part AND we have more songs coming from GirlDeMo.  It’s a win-win situation, no?  Come to think of it, why is Angel Beats only 13 episodes whereas Kaichou wa NoDirection-sama has 24 episodes?  Messed-up world, just like France not getting into the round of 16.  Oops, I forgot about their sh*t coach.

I found this scene quite cute for some reason and I can imagine Yuri living a life like this… having a crush, having good friends, and just being a good student.  It reminded her of the life she could’ve lived.  Speaking of which, how the hell did she die?  Will they never tell us?  Awww, I wish they made an OVA about the school life of every character meeting up somehow instead living in some plane between heaven and… whatnot.  I wouldn’t be surprised if they did – they did for Clannad two alternate realities, right?

This is the ultimate way of an computer otaku to confess his love to a schoolgirl with an automatic gun.  Incredible, but PA Works needs to stop introducing characters that will be important but will disappear five minutes later after a talk that reveals the depths of an individual’s soul.  Ahh, but I guess in the end that the answer is always love.  LOL I was expecting the guy to say “You must admit your love to Otonashi for everyone to move on” and that would be followed by a “F* YEAH!” from me.  Too late.

She realized that she could be like Haruhi Suzumiya and be the god of that world.  Yeah, creepy face much.

It was pretty lame how Yuri just came to forgive herself of her sins after she realized that she couldn’t do anything and how much she’s changed since the incident.  And that still doesn’t tell how the hell Yuri got herself killed.  Well, if they do ever reveal anyone’s death, I hope it’s TK.  Probably ended up getting killed while doing a backflip off the Empire State with a parachute while sniping a business head for a local organized crime unit.  Yes, that’s how epic he is.   On that note, Angel Beats seriously needs 24 episodes.

“How could we leave you, Yuri?  …we’re the A-TEAM.”  But I’m guessing that this is the actual last episode since episode thirteen looks like some graduation/disappearing epilogue.  Ah, I feel bad for Kanade who has to live in this world… but wait, if she’s human, can’t she also disappear?  And who the hell would kill a cute girl like her????

No doubt TK’s death had to be something epic. Sadly it seems the show doesn’t care about actually telling us how they died. All we got was Otonashi’s stupid internal injuries.

Yuri’s sudden forgiveness was kind of lame. I mean she breaks out of that dream of how life could have been and then just gives up 5 minutes later? I was hoping at least Yuri would stick it out. Really I think it’s more about the fact that she can’t handle losing her ‘family’ again. She just doesn’t have the ability to shoulder another loss of that magnitude and keep fighting.

I do think that this series should have been 24 episodes. That way more characters could have had their back stories explained and there wouldn’t be such a jump in between enemies. Way too rushed.

Also if there were 24 episodes Yuri’s acceptance of her horrible past wouldn’t see so random.

I hope Tenshi gets to leave with them. I hope that is why Otonashi accidentally ended up in this world, to bring home the one who got stuck.

I actually thought all those computer screens with hearts was kind of cute. I guess it is a good way to confess to people. Too bad the episode had nothing to do with confessions.
