Team Zero’s Winter 2012 Season Preview

Winter 2012 - Bokutachi no Blog

Happy new year everyone! May the year be filled with happiness and prosperity! So let’s get to what we’re really here for. With every year comes four more anime seasons, and if the Mayan calendar is to be believed (pro tip: it isn’t) it’s the 4th last season we’ll ever see, so we’d better make the most of it! It may not be the greatest of seasons, but there’s a fair amount of really good looking shows on display here. So join us in going through every series Winter will bring.

Best Anime of 2010

I lied.  I got one more post for you all and it’s basically my Christmas present to the rest of my team and your viewers who take your time to come to this site.  As a tradition, we award the best anime shows of 2010 but this time, we’re doing things a bit differently.  Regardless, here’s a bland generic picture of a 2010 anime to get things started before you guys have to click on the “Click here to read more button”.

How we’re basically going to do this is we picked a bunch of shows from the different seasons and gave each season a pick.  Of course, we have one runner-up who also should get credit for having a fun and/or good anime.  Don’t expect Sekirei ~pure engagement~ to be on this list because as much as some of us enjoy bouncing boobs, ripping clothes, and hot girls fighting, that doesn’t define anime.  Imagine what would happen to us if we followed that stereotype.

Amagami SS – Ayajitsu Tsukasa arc

The ultimate arc that has everyone on the edge of their seats from the last several disappointing arcs of Amagami has finally ended after its casual run of four episodes.  Initially, Ayajitsu Tsukasa was voted as the most popular girl in the Amagami world hence the producers decided to do her arc last.  Plus, she’s the girl with the most developed problem unlike others who either can’t speak too loudly or can’t swim well enough or can’t continue their tea club.

I’m not pointing any fingers when I’m saying that this was potentially the most satisfying arc in terms of during and after.  I’m surprised that they showed that the two had a kid and even how Tsukasa changed her hair a lot.  No matter – she’s still sexy.  A sexy cunning devil at that.

Amagami SS Rihoko arc

There are many things that are going on through my mind right now as I keep asking myself how the arc played out.  There are many things that confuse within the whole arc and there are certainly more things that piss me off.  There are things that throw off the whole idea of Amagami SS when it could be toned down for the final arc.  Regardless, what could’ve been the arc with the greatest potential turned out to be a very dull and somewhat pointless four episodes.

Of course, that doesn’t mean it was necessarily bad.  I’ve been reading various blogs on the latest Rihoko-arc in Amagami SS and it seems that many bloggers wanted the best ending for Rihoko noting that she had the best-friend card.  True, while it did make me feel bad that Rihoko, being the sweetest and perhaps most innocent of all the heroines, got perhaps the lamest ending with the boy she loves, you have to remember that if she did get a “love” ending, people would probably rage and say that every arc is the same thing.  Then again, by giving the ending that they did, let the raging begin.

A brief update, and what to expect from the future

Hey my fellow readers, it’s me again bringing you latest updates on series our team is currently blogging and a brief update of what to expect.  If you haven’t noticed, several of my latest posts have been updated later and later until they have been non-existent… somewhat.  I started the spring season blogging up to ten different anime series and in the summer picked up even more series.  In the beginning I was covering everything but as we got to the final few episodes in every series, school started for me and I found myself under more and more strain to finish the series.  But now that I have a little time again, I’ll try to finish up final impressions and bring updates on the series that I have finished, or have still to do.

I’m still taking a break, but I will come back to blogging in November starting with the series I have to finish.  I have no interesting in picking up any of the series in the summer so I’ll do movie reviews and some game reviews all relating to anime of course.  That obviously puts Amagami SS as my only series as well as my updates, but you shall expect a Fate/unlimited blade works update as well.  More to come, all in the new month!  (You can expect an epic return post as well).

Amagami SS episode eleven

Same things, same complaints, and same wonderings.  I normally say in this paragraph how the different arcs compare with each other in terms of where they stand in relationships but I guess we don’t need to here the same things.  Let’s get to the plot.  Like now.

Amagami SS episode ten

What I did was look up Sae Nakata’s voice and I was mildly surprised to see that her part was played by Hiromi Konno.  Not a bad choice, I thought, but certainly an odd one.  I haven’t seen that many shows with Hiromi Konno in it but the one show that I did end up watching with her in it was Lucky Star, and she was playing Akira who I do believe was that really spontaneous pink-haired news reporter at the end of every show that went all (^^) to being all (>_<) in an instant.  Of course, I haven’t seen her other roles so I can’t really argue against her fitting in Sae Nakata’s part, but it’s good to know that when Sae does gain confidence, Akira’s voice from Lucky Star will plunge from the depths of our memory into the final two episodes her arc in the Amagami world.

Ironically, Kana Asumi plays the role of Junichi Tachibana’s sister: Miya Tachibana.  Miya doesn’t get a lot of screen-time in the whole series but she does pop up randomly with either her friends or some continuous bugging towards her brother’s latest romantic interest.  Asumi’s played a lot of roles including Yukari Minato (Sekirei ~pure engagement~), so it feels a little weird seeing her as… actually, she always seems to play the loud type of girl, so I guess it does suit her in a way.
