A Week In Review: March 5th – 11th

Last week’s “A Week In Review” couldn’t be done because of midterm exams and lab reports. I felt that it was probably too late to publish last week edition 3 days late. Then again who cares, considering there is nothing cutting edge on this column . Anyway, whether I did it or not, the week before was mainly highlighted by

a tsundere Haruto

a cameo from Elizabeth (Gintama) on Hunter X Hunter

and a pedo in Aquarion Evol

First Impressions: Natsume Yuujinchou Shi

According to the most recent Season’s Preview done by the Bokutachi no Blog team, it seems that at least half of my writers have never watched Natsume Yuujinchou. I know, now that the series is into its fourth season, it seems daunting to start at the beginning, but I think the story and characters are so believable and easy to invest in that you’ll find yourself breezing through the first three seasons and onto the fourth.

Or you could just start with the fourth.

Team Zero’s Winter 2012 Season Preview

Winter 2012 - Bokutachi no Blog

Happy new year everyone! May the year be filled with happiness and prosperity! So let’s get to what we’re really here for. With every year comes four more anime seasons, and if the Mayan calendar is to be believed (pro tip: it isn’t) it’s the 4th last season we’ll ever see, so we’d better make the most of it! It may not be the greatest of seasons, but there’s a fair amount of really good looking shows on display here. So join us in going through every series Winter will bring.

Natsume Yuujinchou San

You know, I was a bit surprised that there weren’t more people reviewing Natsume Yuujinchou San. Exactly like its preceding two seasons, it follows Natsume Takashi as he juggles between building a family with the Fujiwaras, the few but cherished friendships he’s made, and discovering more about his grandmother Reiko through his involvement with youkai. Also like the first two seasons is the feeling and atmosphere carried by the show: very light, pastel animation; very easy on the eyes even if it is lacking in detail. For the most part (and I say this vaguely because I’m terrible at paying attention to these things) the music is well selected and fits the calming, soothing theme, picking up when the action starts.

But most importantly, is the the heart of Natsume Yuujinchou which, of course, is Nyanko Sensei.

I. Love. That. Cat!

Winter Anime Season Preview: 2008/09

Just about got this out before the new season started….well, asides from the ones that aired online already, seems to be a new trend. What more can I say, onto the previews!
If there happens to be nothing worthwhile this season, there's always more Xam'd

If nothing worthwhile appears this season, at least there's always more Xam'd

Natsume Yuujinchou 13:Finale – at least for now anyway

Ah it’s the last episode. Normally last episodes wrap up the plot nicely. Instead we just get an episode of fan service. Oh well!

I’m going to divide this review into 4 sections: Plot, Fanservice, episode impressions and final impressions.

Merrys gonna get you

You are sitting at home, minding your own business when you hear your phone go off. You don’t recognise the number but you answer it anyway. You hear a harsh, evil voice crackle through the other end…

It’s Merry! I’m standing outside your house.

Welcome to Bokutachi no Blog. That's "Our Blog" in Japanese. Our Anime Blog, to be exact. And if you landed to this page by accident, probably in search for ecchi stuff, then you should regret to have hit this page. Don't worry, this blog is children-safe and no misdemeanor acts here. Sorry, you bald, middle-aged perverts. But thanks for the hit anyway.
