My sexuality is being jeopardized: Kyoto new project is K-ON! w/ ONLY boys!

Remember that rant I posted the other day saying:

Sigh, I was really hoping for K-ON! 2.0 with boys edition.

Kyoto got right on it.  BUT THIS IS NOT WHAT I MEANT!  AND THEY”RE SERIOUS!!   They literally just made the four genderbent into hot bishounens. I wanted cute girls who regularly interacted with boys on a day to day basis.  Not cute guys only!  In the fujoshi population of the anime fandom, you can hear the arousal calls of thousands going: “UEHEHEHEHEHEH.”  And the REAL issue is. I might just join them.

Now for the specs:

k-on! episode 12: finale! and episode 13 (extra): a winter day

There’s a fair share of people out there who are glad to see K-ON! come to an end. There probably are another handful of people who don’t even know what K-ON! is. As a watcher, follower, and reviewer of K-ON! – while I do genuinely enjoy the series – I have to admit that I’m not sad to see the anime series come to a close. That’s probably because it wasn’t the kind of intense story that gets you in your gut, that sticks in your mind, or shakes your soul. K-ON! has sort of been like the after taste of a good candy: it lingers but after a while, you kind of forget that you’ve eaten it.

k-on! episode 11: crisis!

can the crisis be averted in time?

can the crisis be averted in time?

Ooohhh: what an episode. As the title explicitly states the girls find themselves in a bit of a predicament. The interesting part is that for nearly half the episode, you’re wondering what exactly the crisis is: Is it – as the previews suggest – the fact that Yui hasn’t maintained her guitar (affectionately named Giita or Gitah depending on which subbers you follow) since she purchased it and the service time might conflict with their upcoming performance? Or maybe that Ritsu forgot to hand in the auditorium usage form again? Or will it be something much more serious than that?

k-on! episode 10: another training camp

training camp is fun

training camp is fun

With another school year for the girls of Sakura High, another summer vacation dawns in Episode 10, and much like the previous summer vacation, the Light Music Club organizes another training camp – and that means FUN. We spend another episode watching the girls clad in their cute swimsuits, playing on the beautiful beach under the shining sun, splashing around in the clear blue waters… Ironically enough, the only thing we may not see any of is actual PRACTICE; something that may not sit well with the disciplined Azu-nyan. But if you want to see how her very first Light Music Club Training Camp goes, you’ll have to read on!

K-ON! Episode 9: New Club Member

the girls of K-ON!

the girls of K-ON! (Mugi, Yui, Mio, Ritsu)

Just when you thought K-ON! couldn’t possibly get any cuter, they add another adorable individual who charms us to tilt our heads slightly and “ahwww”. With the coming of Azusa, episode nine bursts at the seams with moments that make you want to chant, “moe, moe, kyun!” Unless, of course, nearly-unbearable cuteness is not your thing; then you’re more likely to gag or experience an allergic reaction. Consider yourself warned.

First Impressions: K-ON!, Requiem for the Phantom, Asura Cryin’, Natsu no Arashii

This will be my fourth season doing first impression posts and for some strange reason they are my favorite type of post. I can’t quite place my finger as to why either. It’s not easier, it doesn’t get far more comments or hits and it takes quite a while to formulate my thoughts on 20 minutes into 20 sentences. Though I do have to say I’ve found a preview hero in Tenka Seiha who manages to get his thoughts across about the anime without spoilers and remaining perfectly funny, although I do completely disagree with his taste most of the time.

My Rating System Explained!

A = If you watch anything this season, watch this

B = Very good, sometimes surprisingly so.

C = If you have the time, you should check this out

D = Not my kind of thing, I won’t be watching this

E = Bad. Very bad, ignore this show

F = Frustratingly awful

Spring 2009 anime season preview

Ah, the Spring Season of Anime. A lo’ and behold there’s barely any bloody sequels! For once I can look at a preview and not keep having to say ‘haven’t seen first season, won’t watch’. So really we should be basking in the glory of all these new shows we get to enjoy. Are you all looking forward to all these grand new shows to watch and completely ignoring any sequels about a certain short blonde fellow with  rather unusual limbs?

I've been waiting for ages for an oppertunity to post this
