Myself; Yourself (Episode 6)

The download page just gotten a major update, which includes L’Arc~en~Ciel’s latest album and abingdon boys school’s debut album. Do check them out.

I still have a lot to catch up with but I’ll be taking the one at a time. So another review for Myself; Yourself before I get back to Kimikiss pure rouge. So for this episode of Myself; Yourself, we get another Hinako feature episode and this is just after her debut on episode 4. What I initially thought is that Hinako would only serve as a filler for the story rather than undertaking main roles to the story. I can’t see how she is related to them but for now, I can’t simply ignore her existence. This episode did not pick up from what was left from episode 5, so we can only guess what had really happened to Nanaka in the past and sure enough, we won’t be getting the answer anytime soon. In regards to Hinako, episode 4 (her debut appearance) was entitled “I’m Not a Child” and episode 6 this time is entitled “I’m an Adult”. We do know that Hinako is desperate for other people to acknowledge her as an adult but having these two titles sounded very similar, are we getting a similar story here? I hope not. So what’s next for Hinako? I’m a Grown-up?

Myself; Yourself
Hinako is home alone again. I can’t help to feel sorry for her.

Hinako walks into a lavish apartment building, which probably figures that she is from a wealthy family. She made her way to her empty apartment and found a note from her mother that she won’t be home until tomorrow night. Continue reading ‘Myself; Yourself (Episode 6)’

Myself; Yourself (Episode 5)

From the preview of episode 5, I figured that this episode would be made into a horror flick. Or so I thought. Much of the buzz are nothing but false perception because the episode is nothing close of being horrific, not even to the extend of scaring off the cats away. Lame indeed. It was even obvious from the first few minutes that there is no way that it’s going to be scary to watch. Though some of the scenes maybe suggestive but those are more the dark past rather than being so ghoulish. Speaking of which, I was surprised to know that Sana may not be the only one with a dark secret. Nanaka, of all the people, have an unfortunate past related to violin and it was yet not known. I believe as the story progresses, Sana would learn about this and eventually help her, together with the rest to overcome her fears. Otherwise we won’t be seeing her playing the violin in the OP. Now I wonder what’s fire had to do with any of those dark past?

“Cat speaks human language. Cat wants food!”

Nanaka was in practice for her dance performance during the upcoming Sakura Festival at the local shrine. Due to this, she was not able to join her friends for karaoke. Continue reading ‘Myself; Yourself (Episode 5)’

Myself; Yourself (Episode 4)

Another member of the cast is introduced in this episode. Surprisingly not of somebody from their school. More ironically is that this girl is a lot younger than them. I suppose having a chibi among the cast is popular (or rather a must) in most anime these days. And some cases involve some love interest between the child characters with older ones. Somehow it seems like paedophilia. Bah! I’m just being too conservative and old-fashioned. Why not spice up the story a bit with such forbidden harem? So far, the character development is taking shape. Also I must compliment the animators for their flawless works up to this fourth episode. I just hope such good drawing and animation quality is maintained because it’s shame to tarnish such a good story. I admit it, I gotten hooked to their story. Even so I am still going through more anime titles for this fall anime listings. I’m not quite done yet and still is checking those good animes amongst them.

Shuusuke was on the way home from his kendo practice at school when he stumbled upon a bunch of brats bullying a girl of their age. Continue reading ‘Myself; Yourself (Episode 4)’

Myself; Yourself (Episode 3)

This may not much for me to offer but I would like to dedicate this to my dearest friend – happy birthday. Also happy thanksgiving!

The episode title of “Cookies and Pebbles” is symbolic to the events leading up to this episode this time. It is mainly about rekindling the bruised relationship between Sana and Nanaka, though Nanaka seems much forgivable. Nanaka’s affection towards Sana is yet to be confirmed but it is all too obvious about her crush on him, aside from Sana’s ignorance for her. Nonetheless at the end of this episode, it is pretty clear that she really like Sana. It is regrettable that Sana has no knowledge of it, not to forget that he totally ignorant about it. To spice up this silent competition, Asama came into the picture. Somehow the usual childhood gang might get a new addition with Asami’s participation. Now that’s a solid slice of life sort of story.

Myself; Yourself
Sana literally makes a wrong move.

To mend severed friendship of Sana and Nanaka, Shuri came up with an outing trip for the river (where they usually hang out during their childhood years) and later a spa. Getting all excited about it, they went to tell Nanaka about the plan. Continue reading ‘Myself; Yourself (Episode 3)’

Myself; Yourself (Anime Preview)

Myself; Yourself has a good start for the first two episodes. And as always, this anime preview will be based on the first two episodes. Here’s another common anime genre – romance. Ever since Honey and Clover, I would seek nothing less emotional as compared to it. I am setting my expectations high each time I’m watching new anime titles. Quite often I am disappointed by weak plots and odd character designs, though most of time it would the former. Now Myself; Yourself is basically about friendship of a bunch of high schoolers and how their emotions towards each other evolved over time. The love chemistry is not excluded but I am expecting more engaging conflicts in those relationships. Now that’s real drama.

So we have a group of friends – Hidaka Sana, Oribe Aoi, Wakatsuki Shuusuke, Wakatsuki Shuri, and Yatsushiro Nanaka (obviously Shuusuke and Shuri are brother and sister, in fact they’re twins!). They’ve been together since childhood until Sana’s family decided to move out of town. Continue reading ‘Myself; Yourself (Anime Preview)’
