2010 Winter Anime Season Preview

For regular, or semi-regular readers of Bokutachi no Blog you may have just had a strange sense of deja vu. Yes, this is the second time I’ve posted this season preview. The problem was the last post seemed to have offended Google for some reason. For the first day or two it attracted plenty of hits but then suddenly stopped showing up on their search engine. If you typed in ‘Bokutachi no Blog Winter Season Preview’, all you would get is last years winter season preview post. Now if this was any other post I wouldn’t mind but this is a bloody season preview! We’re dead proud of this baby and it took far too long to make to let it disappear off into obscurity. So let’s try this again: Welcome to Bokutachi no Blog’s Winter 2010 Anime Season Preview!

::Edit:: Now Google has decided the old one exists but this version doesn’t. Bloody typical

The info on here was taken from a load of places, including but not limited to ANN, MAL, Moetron, Chartfag’s amazing chart, Mangafox, Animesuki forums and a load of other places I can’t remember. Also a lot of info was taken from each respective anime’s website. If you click on the title of each anime it will take you to their website.

I completely encourage anyone to link this preview on a forum or wherever but for gods sake do NOT copy and paste the entire thing onto a forum or your own website. I swear, this happens more often than you might think. Continue reading ‘2010 Winter Anime Season Preview’

Winter 2010 Anime Season Preview

With Japans aging society and falling birthrate they’re going to start making more anime for senior citizens

This grim prediction was made by Gintama and this season proves it. OK, maybe not. But enough of that, welcome to Bokutachi no Blog’s season preview! Since Bokutachi is a proper team blog again, I’m  joined by my fellow writers. Yup, all 4 of the other writers have joined me to share their thoughts on the relatively small selection of anime airing next season. Now sit back and relax while you scroll through our lengthy preview and enjoy. And you better enjoy it. It took a bloody long time to make.

Anime 2008: A year in review

How the hell am I supposed to open this post? I’m talking about every single anime in 2008, the best and the worst in every category. I haven’t seen everything this year obviously, such as Aria, ef, Shigofumi and DMC, but I’ve had a chance to check out pretty much everything else. Anyway, here we go 😀

Since I'm limiting this to only anime which began airing in 2008, there will be no Gintama. But it deserves a mention anyway for being so consistently funny

Nodame Cantabile Paris Chapter Leçon 1

I’m sure Scamp had covered this one. And I shall cover it one more time. Oh yes, Nodame Cantabile is back – one of the animes I’ve been waiting for this year, along with Code Trainwreck Geass R2 and Gundam 00 Season 2. I am also aware that my review here is a little backdated, so I guess I won’t be sharing much. Now, to Paris!

Nodame Cantabile (Anime Review)

It has been the longest time since I made an anime review. With a month of free time to spare, I ought to have good start with a review on Nodame Cantabile. I know this anime had been due on its final episode for months already but my slow start (and recognition) is considerable of this rather late review. In fact, in the beginning, I was skeptical of how well developed the story would be and of course, the general acceptance of anime viewers on classical music. And hence, as I had mentioned, classical music. Nodame Cantabile have all of its ground covered on this less celebrated form of music. So as you would know, the purpose of this anime is to cultivate more interest of the new generation to embrace classical musics which lost much of its popularity against the flow of time. With the advent of new music wave (don’t start me with giving examples, the list can go on forever), classical music is slowly dying out to the extent of the general public having confused perception of classical music with new age orchestra. New age orchestra are new form of musical orchestra, contributing majority of its musical scores to movies, games, and so on. Nodame Cantabile is here to reaffirm the unique beauty of classical music.

Nodame Cantabile

Classical music are those of Beethoven, Mozart and Brahms. There are other notable composers as well but those names are of familiar terms with most people. And Nodame Cantabile featured many of their works. The obvious one is Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7. It is among the best piece ever composed by Ludwig van Beethoven (in case, you are curious of his full name) and it was used as the opening theme for the live-action drama of Nodame Cantabile.
