I have decided to drop Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei from my review. It’s not that the anime is not good. In fact, it is too hilarious. The problem is that I am not getting enough time these days to do some decent review. Given that I’ve been following Darker Than Black and Romeo x Juliet since episode 1, it is fair for me to drop this anime title.
To be frank, I did not enjoy the previous episode as compared to this one. This episode of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is just damn hilarious. I like the part when Fuura actually looked onto the positive side when a tiger was about to attack her. Even in the verge of death, she was being so optimistic. At least she accepts death better than Nozomu who tried to commit suicide numerous times but cowered in the end. Also, in case you did not notice, each episode of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei consists of two parts, of which each part introduces a character from the story. And trust me, each character has a wacky story to tell. Probably this wackiness craves me for more for this anime. So people, indulge yourselves.
Rumours goes around about a student from Nozomu’s class; Kobushi Abiru, that she is always injured from the parental abuse – in short, domestic violence (DV). Because of that, Arai asked Nozomu to meet Abiru’s father. Guided with a photo of Abiru’s father, he never thought of him as a violent judging from him appearance. Coincidentally he found Abiru’s father at the shopping district and decided to tail him. As Abiru’s dad stop over a few stores to buy some products, Nozomu immediately warned the shop owners about the man’s alleged violent nature. The poor fellow was not able to buy anything as he was chased out whenever he wanted to make a purchase. The initial problem is Nozomu jumped to a conclusion about the man’s DV towards Abiru without any probing.
Kobushi Abiru
Domestic violence in SZS!
Later Nozomu ran into Arai and she told him that Fuura fell into the tiger’s den in the zoo. Once reaching there, Fuura was about to get attacked by the tiger when suddenly Abiru called out the tiger. It turns out that Abiru is an animal lover and works in the zoo. However her adoration for animals is in particular on animal tails and most of the time she would just pull the tail of those animals that she loves. This frequently caused her to get injured by those animal or rather that she is the abuser of the animal. A rather bizarre conclusion in the end but to the least, no DV in this case. Now I pity Abiru’s father for being wrongly accused of DV. In fact Abiru showed Nozomu her collection of animal tails. Hey! Animal cruelty on Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. In the end, she considered Nozomu would look more attractive with a tail and forced him to wear one.
“This is just a bad dream. The tiger is just an illusion.”
Get eaten by a tiger and you’ll be a Buddha.
Abiru is such an animal lover. Save the animals!
Well, not quite the effort to save the animals.
Now on another story, Nozomu was teaching inside the class and went on asking Otonashi Meru to read a text. However she was all timid and fidgety as she was not able to mutter a word. Nozomu then showed his support for her, saying that he prefers passive girls like her as he claimed that unnecessary statements may lead to a disaster. Then Meru offered Nozomu her e-mail address as she can only communicate using e-mail via her mobile. So Nozomu began to exchange e-mails with her. It turns out that Meru is such an abusive person in her e-mails despite of her appearance. With this, Nozomu was in despair. In the end, Meru began to send abusive messages to all of her classmates. But her excessive use of the mobile made her battery died out. She was prepared with spare batteries which she carries around. So the whole class was swept with depression due to Meru’s ill messages.
Otonashi Meru
Meru only communicates by e-mails.
A wave of depression. Behold the power of spamming.
Thankfully Fuura offered to switch places with Meru as her seat is out of the mobile range. Because of that, Meru was not able to send any messages. However her inability to express herself caused her to speak inaudible words. But then Fuura considered that she uses the same language as her mother during one time when her mother was possessed. Using a huge cross, Fuura knocked her out cold. Meru regained her consciousness and found her mobile was broken. Then Fuura came to her and said that verbal communication is not necessary. Eye communication is suffice to her and so she asked her to look into her eyes to figure out what is she trying to tell her. Meru looked hard into her eyes and found a scary intent instead. All she could see in Fuura’s mind was the word “kill”. Who is the creepy one now?
Out of range.
Obviously she hates it when her mobile is out of range.
But it’s always better than to have it broken.
Some short clip on the Gameboy version of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. Anything else would be me quitting the review for this anime title. Period.
it is too sad to know that you dropped this anime though..
This is Robert Eggers’ first feature and it’s a knockout in terms of visual flair and dread-filled potency.
No. I do not own any upcycled furniture piece(s), and I also have no intention to ever
purchase that sort of furniture.
