Dragonaut: The Resonance (Episode 16)

15 years ago, a young Asim was running in a forest when he first encountered a dragon egg. His face turned from excitement to fear when the egg began to make its Resonance. Back to the present, he laughed hysterically and being cynically about the power of love Jin and Toa have for each other.

Gundam 00 (Episode 16)

Before I start my review on this episode of Gundam 00, let me first introduced the new Gundams set to bring change to the whole plot. Hopefully for the better. The Gundams are Gundam Throne Eins (piloted by Johann Trinity), Gundam Throne Zwei (piloted by Michael Trinity), and Gundam Throne Drei (piloted by Neena Trinity). This new entity for Gundam Throne will be under direct control of Alejandro Corner, an observer for the Celestial Being and this team is known as Team Trinity. Now that the introduction is done, let’s continue on to the story.

Dragonaut: The Resonance (Episode 15)

It has been the longest time since I review an episode of Dragonaut simply because my download source was compromised. Now that my download woes are a thing of the past, I’m set to my normal reviewing again though the update frequency would be lesser due to my tight schedule for the moment. On a different matter, I decided to drop H2O from my anime review because the story is really going downhill. I must say, there is little development but I’d rather keep my review limited so that I will have more time for myself.

Okay, I know this small talk of mine is getting too long but this one is just too funny! Click here to check it out.

Twelve years ago, the Emperor of Gillard received a request from ISDA for a military cooperation and nodding to it, he ordered Prince Rajna to take charge of the matter. However he was soon assassinated, so much to the delight of Prince Asim. I suspect that he is responsible for the assassination.

Gundam 00 (Episode 15)

With a total of 52 participating squads and 832 mobile suits deployed, the military exercise cordially joined by the HRL, Union and AEU is about to begin as preparations are underway for their largest military movement ever. However all this were made as a cover for their real objective of capturing the Gundams.

Terrorism remained a big threat even after 3 centuries later.

Mobile Suit Gundam 00
Never fret. The Gundams are there to save the day.

Ash Like Snow [PV] by the brilliant green

Keeping up to the demand, both of the new OP and ED for Gundam 00 – Ash Like Snow and Friends – are available for download. Also added is SEAMO’s Mata Aimashou which received quite a request recently. Happy downloading.

Following suit is the PV for Ash For Snow by the brilliant green. Maybe some of you have never heard of the brilliant green before but you might recall the band’s female lead singer  from Tommy february6 who did the OP and ED for Paradise Kiss. Ash Like Snow is applauded for the OP job for Gundam 00 as the first one, Daybreak’s Bell is does not tune well to the anime. This song which is faster paced and great music buildup is fitting for this anime of such genre. However I can’t say the same for the PV. Indeed you can see Haro and a sniper rifle, suggesting strongly of the Gundam influence into the PV and they chose the best man among the four (and my favourite) – Lockon Stratos. However the idea of having a couple of pandas doing the sniping job and the obviously fake explosion make this PV rather, how should I say it, horrid. Thankfully the animators did a much better job for the OP in Gundam 00. Otherwise the song is only best left to listen to. Again I said that the song’s buildup is good but that’s about it. I really like of how the song reaches towards the chorus but having it repetitively is not so great after all. Overall Friends (the song used for ED) is better, I repeat, overall. And not because that I am biased.

Code Geass R2 trailer release

As we all know Code Geass is back this year with the sequel Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2. The airing date has been confirmed on April 2008 on its partner channel MBS. Obviously those who follow the story are not happy with the cliffhanger ending because cliffhanger just sucks. Story-wise there won’t be much of a change but if this is Code Geass, then expect more unexpected plot twists that makes everyone beg for more. However judging from the trailer, I am a little worried that Lelouch might have lost his Geass and there will be little attention to CC’s history. If these two were to happen especially the latter, I’m losing my confidence in this sequel already. Nonetheless with season 1 as the benchmark, season 2 definitely worth the anticipation.

Spice and Wolf (Anime Preview)

Recently my sole download source for my anime has been blocked by the local proxy (the campus internet provider is just being too stringent). There might be a possibility that I will put my anime review on hiatus until the situation is lifted off.

Welcome to the medieval age where Mother Nature is a religion, wolves are worshipped as a pagan deities, and the Church began to spread its influence throughout the whole of Europe. Yes, Spice and Wolf has that for its time setting and judging by the name, “Wolf” would probably refer to the pagan deity and “Spice” is simply the medium of trade during that era. Spice was gold then, though now money is the standardized currency. With such a setting and some obvious hints, I have much clear view of how the story would go. Furthermore this anime is an IMAGIN studio undertaking and I have high hope for IMAGIN which has affiliated to anime like Mushi-shi, Eureka 7 and Eyeshield 21. Certainly I expect great animation scope into this one and I have the feeling that this might be as good as Seirei no Moribito. I hope.

Friends [PV] by Stephanie

The moment I heard this song from Gundam 00, I got hooked to it instantly. Too bad that the song is only available on TV version. That is not the case any longer. The PV for Friends by Stephanie had just been released and now we get to listen to the whole track from the PV.

The PV is somewhat felt different compared to the TV version used for Gundam 00. It felt to me that the song is much more emo for the TV version while this one is a little more towards rock music. Nonetheless Stephanie becomes one of my  new favourite Japanese vocals around and I am looking forward for her debut album in March. I guess most Japanese from mixed parentage got natural talent in music.
