Summer 2012 Season Preview

Summer 2012 Season Preview header

Most of the team has been busy this last season so we’ve been even slower than usual in getting our preview out. But time still ticks on and the summer season is upon us with finale episodes for Spring airing this past week so lets get on with things, what can we look forward to this summer (or winter for myself & Gooney).

Spring 2012 Anime Season Preview

God last season was crap wasn’t it? There were a few good shows but overall it seemed to disappoint just about everyone. I’d make some joke about how the anime that aired failed to keep you warm through the Winter but, no. On that note, look at what we have here! A pretty decent looking season when you get right down to it, there’s something here for pretty much everyone. Like shonen fights? Saint Seiya’s getting a new season for the first time in about 25 years! A fan of Shinichiro Watanabe? (And let’s face it, who isn’t, well, apart from some bloggers here, but they don’t count) Well here he is directing something new for the first time since 2004! Even those of you with gun fetishes have something to look forward to in Upotte! So let’s get fired up in anticipation of the new season with our preview, arriving just in the nick of time!

Our ever Timeous Fall 2011 Season Preview

Fall 2011 Anime

Yes we’re late so lets skip the pleasantries and move right on to business. The fall (or autumn as we call it here) anime season for the year of 2011 is right around the corner so lets have a look at what we’re in store for.

2010 Winter Anime Season Preview

For regular, or semi-regular readers of Bokutachi no Blog you may have just had a strange sense of deja vu. Yes, this is the second time I’ve posted this season preview. The problem was the last post seemed to have offended Google for some reason. For the first day or two it attracted plenty of hits but then suddenly stopped showing up on their search engine. If you typed in ‘Bokutachi no Blog Winter Season Preview’, all you would get is last years winter season preview post. Now if this was any other post I wouldn’t mind but this is a bloody season preview! We’re dead proud of this baby and it took far too long to make to let it disappear off into obscurity. So let’s try this again: Welcome to Bokutachi no Blog’s Winter 2010 Anime Season Preview!

::Edit:: Now Google has decided the old one exists but this version doesn’t. Bloody typical

The info on here was taken from a load of places, including but not limited to ANN, MAL, Moetron, Chartfag’s amazing chart, Mangafox, Animesuki forums and a load of other places I can’t remember. Also a lot of info was taken from each respective anime’s website. If you click on the title of each anime it will take you to their website.

I completely encourage anyone to link this preview on a forum or wherever but for gods sake do NOT copy and paste the entire thing onto a forum or your own website. I swear, this happens more often than you might think. Continue reading ‘2010 Winter Anime Season Preview’

Winter 2010 Anime Season Preview

With Japans aging society and falling birthrate they’re going to start making more anime for senior citizens

This grim prediction was made by Gintama and this season proves it. OK, maybe not. But enough of that, welcome to Bokutachi no Blog’s season preview! Since Bokutachi is a proper team blog again, I’m  joined by my fellow writers. Yup, all 4 of the other writers have joined me to share their thoughts on the relatively small selection of anime airing next season. Now sit back and relax while you scroll through our lengthy preview and enjoy. And you better enjoy it. It took a bloody long time to make.

This is not a season preview, this is just a rant

Chartfags amazing chart came out the other day as I’m sure most of you know by now. My thoughts while looking at it were ‘quality over quantity’, which is totally the opposite approach to the current season. Instead of the usual sequel laden nonsense that often appears, we have a season full of original ideas and recognised talents taken the helm. And yet, as fucking usual, we get everyone saying ‘god this looks crap, all moe-fanservice rubbish’. Now there is nothing in anime fandom I hate more than oldfags complaining that everything was better back in the good old days. This proclaiming that the latest season is rubbish is just a tangent from this thought-process. This year will obviously be crap because it’s further away from those years when I was wearing rose-tinted specs. So now, for your convenience and viewing pleasure, I’m going to explain why this upcoming season is not a failure. I stress, this is not a season preview. That will come at the end of this month. This is an angry Irish otaku person who likes anime. Enjoy.

Fall 2009 Anime Season Preview

Maybe it’s because the first time I visited an anime blog was to read a Spring 2008 season preview, but these season preview posts always feel a bit special. Nothing else takes as much time to make or attracts as much hits. Season Previews are arguably the most important posts blogs produce for the rest of the anime community (well I’d argue that it is). So sit back and enjoy the latest Fall Anime Season Preview! (why Fall? Real men say Autumn)

All those shounen heroes

You can probably see where I’m going with this picture. Not only does this season see the return of one dog-eared demon, but we also see the birth of a brand new hit. It’s a good time to be a shounen fanboy. Shame I’m not one…

Most of the synopsis are either taken fron ANN or MAL (even though MAL takes most of it’s synopsis’ from ANN but whatever). Other info is generally taken from Chartfag’s amazing chart, Moetron or Can you Moe. You can also go to Ganbatte’s preview as it’s the only other one I’ve seen that’s actually had effort put into it.

A quick note before I begin. Please for gods sake, do NOT copy and paste this entire preview onto a forum or your own blog. If you do I’m going after you with a machete

Spring 2009 anime season preview

Ah, the Spring Season of Anime. A lo’ and behold there’s barely any bloody sequels! For once I can look at a preview and not keep having to say ‘haven’t seen first season, won’t watch’. So really we should be basking in the glory of all these new shows we get to enjoy. Are you all looking forward to all these grand new shows to watch and completely ignoring any sequels about a certain short blonde fellow with  rather unusual limbs?

I've been waiting for ages for an oppertunity to post this

Welcome to Bokutachi no Blog. That's "Our Blog" in Japanese. Our Anime Blog, to be exact. And if you landed to this page by accident, probably in search for ecchi stuff, then you should regret to have hit this page. Don't worry, this blog is children-safe and no misdemeanor acts here. Sorry, you bald, middle-aged perverts. But thanks for the hit anyway.
