Oh My Goodness! Some girl, that we have no clue who she is, practically confessed to this boy who, by the way, we have no idea who he is either. She can’t take it anymore and throws herself on him, and asks the spiky haired boy if he dislikes her. Of course, like any boy would, he responds with a quick, “No, I don’t dislike you. I need to set my feelings strait too.” *whimper…Oh boy, seems like its about to get very intense. And its only in the beginning of the first episode!
But no. Unfortunately for our brave, black haired boy, this was all but a dream. Actually the funny part is that he was woken up by his pet cat, Nyamsus. Being tortured by the allergies that he has toward cats, he also discovers that he can now hear what the cat is saying! Yes, that is a “hear”, as in the thing that you do with you ear, in case you missed that. But anyways, by the girl in his dreams, we are introduced to our Main Character, Junpei Kousaka.
Following a rather unwelcome breakfast Junpei then tries to explain the dilemma with his friends. Haha, its hilarious how his friends deal with the very “Serious” problem. But finally giving an ear to his thoughts, they said it would probably be better to ask our next Main Character, Kaede Mizuno. (which, by the way, is rather cute for her profile character)
Almost as if he sensed some of his cat allergies, he darts out the class room. So as we can see, Junpei has some confrontational issues. Sorry for the big word, XD. Now hes walking back home from school and he’s obviously baffled by his talent that obviously doesn’t fit a cat-allergic Guy. But suddenly coming up to a small cat shrine, he remembers that he had broke the cat Jizous (like a small statue) head by trying to kick a can in the garbage. Ok, take a moment to take this in…*sigh…WHAT?? You got to be one, unlucky, sun-of-a-gun to be able to nail a statues head off Inside the small shrine! Although I’m a bit used to seeing situations like these in animes like these.
He meets up with this old priest at the shrine who explains to him why the Jizou is there and that anyone who hurts it will be badly cursed. Lol, wow that was very subtle. Then after receiving a rather scary, creepy, yet funny explanation from the priest’s cat (ouch, yet another cat to torture him), Junpei’s convinced that he may just be in a bit of trouble.
Afternoon already and Junpei is out shopping for his mother, but surprisingly enough he’s with his dream girl, Mizuno. Ok, in this situation they’re both holding one bag together. Yea, I can understand the Gallant thing in his part, but he makes such a big deal about the fact that people may think they’re a couple that it’s just a bit uncanny. I guess it’s just a bit of Japanese culture for ya. Don’t get me wrong, I’m very fond of it myself.
I guess to put some spice in his life, the Priest decides to dress like a Black Power Hippie from the 70’s and walks around town. Then Mizuno bumps into this hippie-looking “guy”, and spills his drink all over his suit. But before Afro Man could get cocky with Juliet, Romeo comes and saves the day by scaring off the priest. Hehe, I really got to had it to AIC for its comedy, they really know how to get you rollin. *snickers
I’m realizing that AIC has taken the time to develop the characters at least enough that you can enjoy the first episode. Although I think they may be heading to a path of developing characters that aren’t neccacarily important. But I can’t decide that right now, it’s just a bit to soon to say. I mean, who knows, maybe the Priest may be more important then I think. lol
In the end of the episode, after Junpei saves this kitten from Mizuno’s “clutch of death”, he thinks he’s finally freed from the curse. But walking past his cat and hearing them again, the cats explains that he stills has 99 favors for the Jizzou left to go. WOW, are telling me they’re going to make That many episodes?? Normally animes like this don’t last after the 20th more or less.
Over all, I’m definatly content with my first impression of Nyan Koi. The comedy is a more realistic and its not those dumb 5-year-old petty jokes either. *wipes imaginary sweat off face
Hopefully it doesn’t Kampferize like I’ve been told.
Haha…yea…Good thought.
Although I was afraid it might be headed to somthin worse like Akikan. Ouch…I still laughed at Akikan though…lol
@ Seinime: Kampferize?
@ RP: lol…Well, I’m guessin she doesn’t like Kampfer and she doesn’t want this anime turnin into somthin somwhat like it.
@kaza by “she” i hope you don’t mean the registered lolicon… male blogger Seinime?
Oh my.
Somehow i really liked this, even though the story is in no way original.
It was refreshing.
@ Mr.Black
XD…sorry. I guess it was just a reflex of naming every unknown person by a she. I guess it’s a bad habbit, lol.
@ Seinime
Sorry… XD
