Thank the lord I finally get to blog this series instead of all the weird ones this week (excluding Highschool of the Dead). That being said, I was wondering what kind of chapter we could possibly expect after Kiyomi’s and Haruto’s conversation last chapter, but little did I know I was to be disappointed. Yeah, these introductory paragraphs keep getting shorter.
The chapter starts off with Kiyomi’s situation and Haruto’s situation being revealed to the weird-accent girl and she just goes typical ‘ehhh~’ over the whole issue, not to mention Haruto’s blonde classmate misunderstanding the whole thing. I found the revival of these two females to be refreshing after just having Eba, Eba, Eba, Eba over the last few chapters but it was to no point. Why the hell did Kiyomi need to tell Haruto’s friend? Yes, Haruto could’ve told her that Kazama could have the surgery but not like that. Not like that, sir.
Chapter 97
The Canned Peach Plan
Regardless, Kiyomi attempts to win Kazama’s love through a confession after a serving of canned peaches, supposedly his favorite. She gives him the can but realizes that there were no spoons, and tries to get Eba to go get spoons but fails. After Kiyomi and Haruto go get the spoons, Kiyomi realizes that Kazama is happy the way he is after seeing him smile with Eba. She admits defeat and ask Haruto to give him the spoons. Haruto declines after he admits he cannot interrupt when the girl of his dreams is smiling happily too.
Uh… cheesy? Unoriginal? Maybe not, but this chapter did seem very mundane and slow-paced compared to all the other ones we saw so far. After Kiyomi admits like that, I can’t really see her getting back together with Kazama so there goes that theory, but was she an unnecessary character? I’m sure the plot wouldn’t exclude so we can still say that my theory is up in the air. If she actually does never show up again, the last three chapters have gone to a waste. And basically the last several weeks as well for our manga writer. Here’s an idea, Haruto! Go for a different girl! Wow, did we really never come up with that one before?

Damn it Haruto forget that sappy not breaking a smile thing. You’ve been focused on bringing her back for all these chapters you are damn well going to finish the job!
But yeah having Haruto and Kiyomi plotting was kind of hilarious. Their plan was so lame it was actually hilarious. I sure hope she hasn’t really given up since Haruto needs someone working with him on this.
