Kimi no Iru Machi ch. 98

It saddens me due to the closing of One Manga, this may indefinetly be my last Kimi no Iru Machi review at least until I find a site that updates this series as well as some of the other series that I am reading.  Yes yes, it was a short run but it’s not dead and hopefully I’ll be able to find away around these silly pirate hunters and  find a site that shows this manga.  Since it’s not as popular as… say, One Piece or Bleach, it will likely be harder to find a site that would take the time and guts to host this manga.

The title page was a bit more… enticing than what we’ve seen from the series so far and maybe I was expecting something a little more extravagant.  Turns out that the whole chapter is back at school with some more familiar faces but basically another Kazama vs. Haruto chapter.  Mmm, we haven’t seen one of those in a while.

Chapter 98

No Handicaps

Dunno what I was seeing for most of the chapter, but I guess it had something to do with Haruto getting back to his school life and seeing Kazama back in action again.  After a few encounters with a weird-accented girl and a blonde girl who’s totally misled by her own wild fantasies, Haruto decides to take Kazama onto the roof.  There, the two begin to fight and after exchanging a few punches, Haruto kicks Kazama back far enough to have him break the railing and Kazama falls to his death.  There is a thud as Haruto realizes the extent of what he’s done, and he realizes that he must kill the girl he loves to avoid arrest: Eba.   I really wish that my final chapter blogging this (for now) would be that exciting but it just turns out that Kazama is planning to go through with the surgery simply to live with Eba longer.

Now why did nobody ever think of that in this scenario?   Did we just waste 10 chapters about convincing him not to take the surgery and listen to his heart when in this chapter, he decides to go through with it.  To me, Haruto and Kazama are taking Eba’s relationship to far as a game.  Perhaps they are really being serious, which I would believe, but it seems lately that both of them are taking too much of it has a joke.  That’s contradictory, I know, but nobody really expects a real relationship between two guys and one girl to be just “heh heh I’m going to win her back!” and “har har no you’re not!”.  Silly manga indeed, but we should expect this boiling under the surface to come up loud really soon.  I hope.

Yeah I think your epic scenario would have been more entertaining to follow. Oh well instead got something rather predictable. Kind of does feel like they are taking this relationship way too lightly. I’ve got a crazy idea. How about they just figure out what Eba wants and go with that? Instead it’s like trying to steal a trophy and if she does end up with one of them the other will just try to get her back.

Hopefully Kazama just dies in the surgery and that’ll settle things….yeah right. But really that’s some confidence since it seems he guilted her into it with his impending death. Sure he can hope the time they have spent together will create a strong enough bond, but honestly he’s screwed. If Haruto and Eba don’t end up together then we’ve really wasted a ton of time on something pointless.

Haha, but I wonder how Kouji-sensei will end things with everyone’s issues, although dunno if I should be expecting that in the next few chapters.
