Kimi no Iru Machi 134… How to dump a character

Geez! It’s been over a month since my last KNIM post and I still can’t report anything interesting! (Probably Yuzuki should get another moribund boyfriend so that I can boom my readers rate when posting his death)(Yeah, that was harsh, but so is life..).

Aaaanyway, what we get is some kind of present flashback, with all the crew getting together at countryside once more. And just as if the open spaces had some kind of air virus for making people who’s smart act as dumbasses, we can watch how Seo (for those who don’t know I’m talking about the author..), kills probably the only character with personality in the whole story… Kiyomi.

Since Nanami-chan was removed as one of Haruto’s principal love interests, there hasn’t been another person that could show some deep insight and consistent non-stereotipical behavior. After Kanzama’s death, the plot has been smoothly but eagerly falling into a deep dark well of tedium and mediocrity, and Kiyomi falling for a four-eyed jerk appears to be the bottom of it (really wish it IS the bottom.. ). I mean, did we get any preamble of how these 2 got closer?. We know that Takashi hits anything with legs and boobs, but Kiyomi?! I thought higher of her, after all she’s the one that supported Kanzama, slapped Yuzuki and became Haruto’s friend, all in a single arc!. Acting like a brainless teenager in love with someone that throws up for 3 pages definitely doesn’t suit her, and makes me think that the author might be finally approaching us to a finale, since all the characters are falling in pieces…

Moving on to the main couple, it’s interesting (not that much, but almost..) that Yuzuki is openly making moves on Haruto. Since Azuka is nowhere to be found in the last chapters (thanks God!), Eba appears to be freely approaching to a reconciliation. I’m sad to say that there’s nothing amusing on the way she’s bringing Haruto back to her, but simply making him remember old times and throwing direct indirects every now and then. Unfortunately for her (and for all of us that want to see how this mess is gonna end..), Haruto is as dull as a bricks wall sunken deep in open sea… might take him another couple of chapters to recognize what’s going on, and probably another 3 or 4 to make a move in reply… Hope I have enough patience to reach that point with a slight bit of interest…

Ja ne!

Should be interesting to see how things turn out. Certainly can lead to an interesting reversal with this time her being the one trying to steal back someone that is currently in a relationship. Sadly there’s no fatal disease waiting on Asuka to make this simple and easy.

Still this had to happen eventually no matter where you stand. She’ll have to openly make a move (Haruto isn’t going to figure it out otherwise) and either we’ll move towards reconciliation or we will really put this relationship between them to bed. It couldn’t just end the way it did. They either had to get back together or have a more firm goodbye.

I’ve been reading about Seo’s works, and some people state that it’s quite possible for Haruto to end up with Azuka (specially because of her likeliness with previous main protagonists of other mangas…). Personally I like Eba better, Azuka although lovely still feels too plain for my tastes.. At this point all I ask for is for a conclusion..

Shall Haruto end up with Eba, it would be the most rage worthy ending that I’ve ever known, altogether just on anime & manga standard. While I’m not the biggest fan of Asuka (she’s alright), Eba is IMO utterly beyond redemption, after THE stunt that she’s pulled, she could not expect any sympathy from me anymore.
But yeah, I do have the feeling that Seo is slowly shifting to this very ending as well. Wish I had bailed out earlier but now that I’ve come this far, there’s no turn back D:

Hahaha!… looks like most of the still going fans of KNIM are still holding just because of the time spent and not out of true interest.. How would I feel about that if I were the author?

Guess I’ll start writing huuuge posts so that readers post some comments because of the same reason.. 😛

I still believe that the manga will with Asuka remaining as Haruto’s girlfriend but with about 20-30 chapters of depressing drama (lol). Seo Kouji usually makes a short-haired girl the final girlfriend for the male lead. 🙂

Don´t know why but i suddenly had an epiphany.. Haruto will impregnate Azuka and will have to renounce Yuzuki out of responsibility…

I still need the scissors.. but for a different reason… :´(

The consensus seems to be that the short-haired girl gets the guy. Probably true, given Seo’s other works, and that Haruto still hasn’t clued into all the moves Eba’s made (broken nail? how could he not make the most of that?? sigh….).
Something along the lines of 5 centimeters/second would work too..

I still hate to see Azuka being left out of the picture like that after everything. We all know that he’s going to get back with Eba one way or another and Azuka’s going to just give him up. *dammit* At least there’s not another girl involved in the entire thing…
    *Seo-san introduces a new girl*
